3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

V & As sounds amazing! Thanks for the getting the sneaky pics. The food looked absolutely beautiful!

:lmao: That's a great way to describe it! And that's exactly how I felt!! Some people were using their flash, which in no way bothered me, but I was super careful and tried to be discreet....I don't think I ever stood up to get a picture. Perhaps this is why some of the pictures are dark and blurry:confused3:laughing:

I've been meaning to ask you.....what photo editing program do you use for your pictures? I love what you've done to them!

And BTW....I finally made my way over to the Resort Changers thread tonight & joined in!

It's nothing fancy, girl! Just the simple Photobucket stuff. I have a Nikon program for editing, but it's too time consuming for a TR....Photobucket is easy breezy and quick:thumbsup2

Ha! You finally made it to the thread:yay: I haven't been over there due to school, but will find my way back tonight...I hope!! Did you see WDWKOOK's pictures of the WL Presidential Suite??!! Unbelievable...how lucky did they get??!!

It sounds like you had a really special time there! That's amazing what they do when you go the bathroom. Id say Im surprised but nothing that Disney does to go the extra step surprises me anymore;)

so awesome :goodvibes still following and loving the pics :) my husband and i did v&a earlier this month for our anniversary too and i agree... outstanding! but i was way too full... next time emptier belly for sure. thanks so much for all of the info on the neverland club... great to see and hear about the childcare for future visits :thumbsup2

Ha ha....I love the pictures of the bathroom! KOOKs pixiedust is incredible  At least it's Friday...which means you're off, and I work:confused3 See ya Monday

Oh wow, those desserts look incredible!!! What a cool coffe pot! Oh, and I love the pictures of the bathroom! Disney resorts have some of the prettiest bathrooms! :lmao:

Victoria & Albert’s

Part 2

Notice the coffee pots on the table…I was super interested in these.

DSC_4180.jpg

The servers and maître d’ don’t miss a beat…when a lady gets up from her seat, someone is there to pick up the napkin and bring a fresh one when she returns. After we returned from the ladies’ room, there was someone there to seat us once again. This happened with both my mom and me….I tried to glance around and see if they literally had someone watching for this sort of thing, but it didn’t appear that they did.

And if you’re curious as to what the restrooms looked like….here ya go! Can you believe my mom got pictures of the restroom??!!

Inside the actual restroom were separated rooms for each toilet area…they were not exquisitely decorated as you may think…very simple but elegant.

Sixth Course

It was finally time for our final course…the dessert and coffee. This was probably the hardest choice for me because of the tempting descriptions Terry gave us…6 of them! I was also excited about the coffee…these very unusual coffee pots peeked my interest from the time we arrived…now I was actually going to see one in action.
I think this is a vacuum coffee maker, but don’t take my word for it…this is how it works… It is actually 2 glass globes, one set into another, with a filter (usually a cloth filter). The bottom glass globe is suspended over a heat source. This set up looks more like a high school experiment than a coffee making device, but it does make a good cup of coffee. I was completely amazed!

After all of our courses were complete, they brought out several pieces of chocolate…as if I could put another bite in my mouth! Then, they presented my mom and I each a long stemmed red rose. Each couple was also given a loaf of date bread to take back to the resort.

On our way out, we struck up a conversation with the Maître d’, Israel. He was such a delight to talk with, and so very kind. Long story short, we told him that we would be returning to the GF for dinner at Citricos. He kindly walked us out to the Citricos Hostess and told her to please try and reserve a specific table for us by the window….very polite of him.

Victoria and Albert’s was most definitely the highlight of my entire trip. Even though we were there for 3 ½ hours, it was thoroughly enjoyable…never did we feel rushed or hurried. The food was never delivered too slowly or too quickly….timing was impeccable. Everything…and I mean EVERYTHING…was perfect....especially my dinner date...my DH:hug:

I can’t say enough about this dining experience….would we venture out and do this again?? Absolutely 100%! Even though it’s more costly than the basic dining at WDW, it’s well worth the price. Perhaps one day we will try the Chef’s Table…just not sure if I could eat 10 courses:confused3....until then, we’ll have to rely on the memories of V&As Main Dining Room.

Up next….Early Morning Photos of the CR….

Thank you so much for the great report. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading about your experience, as it brought back so many good memories of our dining experience.

Heather, what a beautiful picture of the 4 of you. Among other things, I was impressed by the great tasting coffee, so we asked about purchasing one of the coffee makers. They are available for sale in the hotel gift shop; however, we eventually decided not to purchase one.

A wonderful conclusion to your dinner at V&A. I love that your mom took pics of the bathroom. While V&A is not for me (although DH would go if I told him about the Kobe Beef ) I did so enjoy reading about your expierence of eating there.

Wow that sounded like a lovely experience. How beautiful and articulate V & A is. Half of the menu I couldnt even pronounce but it all looked wonderful. Im so glad you enjoyed it.

Oh and the neverland club....what a great idea. Disney really does know how to get every little detail.

Yeah, I have the Nikon program also but I don't use it. I upload my photos to SmugMug. I have access to Picnik thru SmugMug & sometimes I'll use it. I'm considering buying an editing program like Photoshop or Aperture, but I'm unsure. Think I'll wait to see if I can get a lot better in my picture taking before I make that investment.

Ha! You finally made it to the thread:yay: I haven't been over there due to school, but will find my way back tonight...I hope!! Did you see WDWKOOK's pictures of the WL Presidential Suite??!! Unbelievable...how lucky did they get??!!

Yeah, I finally found my way over to y'all! I could not get over Kook's pics of that Presidential Suite! OMG!!!!!! I think that is the most awesome pixie dust I've ever heard of!

Here goes a multi-quote...my RC friends will be proud:laughing:...as you know I always have trouble with this!

Me either! They are always coming up with something new and things that make us go "Wow!"...kind of like the dessert for children at Cali Grill...Sushi Plate made with rice crispy treats and gummies.

You are completely right about being 'too full'. Next time we will opt out of a big lunch...just breakfast. You wouldn't think that those small portions would be enough.....however by the end of the night, you can't put another bite in your mouth, right!?

...drool...

:rotfl:

Ha ha....I love the pictures of the bathroom! KOOKs pixiedust is incredible  At least it's Friday...which means you're off, and I work:confused3 See ya Monday

You could certainly tell we were newbies at V&As...pics of a bathroom:confused3:laughing: Have a nice weekend!...Now that I'm off, I've got PAGES of catching up to do on the RC Thread.

Oh wow, those desserts look incredible!!! What a cool coffe pot! Oh, and I love the pictures of the bathroom! Disney resorts have some of the prettiest bathrooms! :lmao:

You crack me up, Emma! But you're right!! I'm funny about public restrooms, but never seem too freaked out at Disney's.

Thanks!! I had no idea they sold them at the GF:confused3....interesting. Do you remember how much they cost? I would venture to say they aren't cheap. Not sure what I would actually do with one at my home...guess I could use it for dinner parties:confused3...it would certainly be an attention getter:laughing:

Thanks, Shelia! My mother had her small, hand-held camera...much easier and discrete to sneak to the restroom:laughing: Mine would have been way too obvious...no sticking my camera in a purse!

:lmao: We didn't either!! We all kind of laughed while we were looking over the menu...thank heavens Chris & Terry explained everything! And when they were giving us all the details, the words were just rolling off their tongues like it was nothing!

I've never heard of SmugMug:confused3....hmmmm...I'll have to check it out. Do you use Photobucket for the DisBoards? I looked at some of those more expensive editing programs, and even downloaded one for a free trial....just couldn't figure out how to use it:confused: I would really like to take a photography class and then have someone sit down with me and give me a lesson or two on editing....in all my spare time, of course!

Glad you made it over to the RC Thread...I'm going over now to catch up!!

Heather, the only thing I remember was that the cost was prohibitive for us at the time. I thought it made really good coffee. Thanks again for the great report.

I've been really happy with SmugMug. There are 3 levels of accounts, but I just do the basic. It is a site where you pay but I really like their privacy options & also the way I can organize my pictures. And I'm not limited to the size photo I upload or how many I upload. And they will never delete your photos. All of my photos in my TR were uploaded to here from my SmugMug account.

There are 4 courses in photography at the university in the town I live in that I want to take. Once I get thru all 4 of those, I'll probably look into a nice editing program. But, then I'll have to take the class for it as well. :lmao:

I'm really enjoying the RC thread....I can already tell that I will fit in perfectly!

Thanks! I had a feeling it was pricey to say the least...and not very practical for the morning cup of coffee. Next time we're at the GF, I'll have to take a peek at them.

What a nice meal!Talk about fancy and a little break from the kiddos.:thumbsup2

Always good to have a little bit of adult time, ya know!

Well....I'm checking out this SmugMug site! Looks promising! I'm going to play around with it and see how it goes. I'm assuming it's fairly simple:laughing: I'll let you know;)

Good luck with the photography classes! They should be super interesting and very beneficial...especially for the Disney trips:laughing:

Well...if my calculations are correct...your DD is 4...I guess you have around 6 years to get your plans worked out! 10s the magic age...get going!

Oh dear! That's not much time to plan!!! :lmao:

I so enjoyed reading the rest of your V&A review. It is great to be able to live vicariously. ;)

Hey Heather...I am all caught up again!:) Continue to be amazed how quickly you keep this thing going. Can't you go back to school or something so I have a chance of keeping up-to-date?:rotfl:

Too funny about your comment on your non-Disney friends not getting the photo op in front of the TOT. I can definitely relate. I have a number of friends IRL who like and enjoy Disney, but only 3 who really "get it" like I do. And a whole bunch who just don't get it at all.

Loved your V&A recap. Your experience sounds very similar to mine on my first ever visit there in May. However, we didn't get the loaf of bread to take home. :confused3 I also didn't see Israel, even though I was specifically looking for him. I heard him speak at the D23 Sip N Stroll events last Oct, and thought that both he and Chef Hummel were absolutely delightful. So down-to-earth and unintimidating. In fact, seeing them at that event (and tasting the delicious food sample they prepared) is entirely what compelled me to book dinner at V&A. One day I also want to do the Chef's Table...:goodvibes

You're right...you need at least 7 years!:lmao:

 We did start back last Thursday...notice there's been no new post since V&As :rolleyes1 I'm hoping to get some early morning CR pictures posted by tonight...we'll see!

:thumbsup2 You're right! In fact, last Friday while we were eating lunch, my friends were giving me a hard time about "Disney " trips...they wanted to know how many I had booked for this upcoming year....only 2, I smirked;)

I wonder why y'all didn't get the bread at the end:confused3...strange. Unintimidating is a great way to describe Israel:thumbsup2 I read a report on the DisBoards quite some time ago about the Chef's Table...had lots of pictures, too, but I didn't mark it...now I can't find it. Before going to V&As, I couldn't imagine being there for over 3 hours, much less at the Chef's Table for 4...but now...don't think it would be a big deal at all.

Heather

You started back to school ALREADY???!!! In JULY????!!!!:scared1:

Just the teachers, or are students back as well? My...you southern folks really start back early, don't you? We don't go back until after Labour Day...but then again, we don't get out until literally the end of June, so I guess it all works out.;)
