3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

What a treat to find another update. We've never had lunch or dinner at Rose and Crown but you made it sound soo good. Thanks again.

Put it on your to-do list for WDW;)....worth a try. I would think that it would be a great place for Illuminations...if you could get seat!

Nobody blames you for taking so many early morning pics! They all are beautiful!

Ive always wanted to try Rose and Crown. I dream of eating a late dinner there and watching Illuminations from our table:cloud9: Hopefully that will happen someday.

I can only imagine how hard it is to get a table for Illuminations!! Wouldn't it be great, though. Wish I could reserve a table and just eat dessert...not gonna happen though. I bet you have to sit there for quite some time just waiting:confused3

Good idea! Getting up early to a beautiful sunrise is a great way to start the day You'll have a wonderful time by yourself snapping pictures! It would be a terrific time, also, to get some family shots (since they get up early) when people aren't around...you'll basically have the outside to yourself

I didn't even think of doing family shots with no one else around! I'm going to have to remember to do that. Reid is such a morning person, so it should be easy to do. In fact, every year when I get his portraits done, I always make the 1st appointment in the morning because that's when he's happiest.

If you want a convenient character meal, Ohana (breakfast) and 1900 Park Fare (Breakfast) have great ones!! Of course CP will get you into MK early That's why we did it. You might be right about Reid getting upset with not going to Chef Mickey's Are y'all going to try the MNSSHP?

I wouldn't mind Ohana, but I hate Stitch! :rotfl: I'll have to look at 1900 Park Fare. Do you know what characters are at that one? We'll probably do a couple different character breakfasts. I've always wanted to try the breakfast at CP, so I'm definitely going to try & get us an ADR for that one (before park opening, of course!). Reid just LOVED Chef Mickey's when we went on our last trip. And Ed & I enjoyed our food, so I wouldn't mind going back again. I really liked having a 7am ADR for it & would try to do that again. He asks me all the time when Mickey's going to make us breakfast again. :rotfl2: We're definitely going to go to MNSSHP. In fact, it's one of the reasons why we're going next October. I've been wanting so bad to go to MNSSHP & I'm hoping some of the Fantasyland Expansion will be open. It's just going to be hard to wait so long to get back to our happy place. And patience is not a virtue of mine. :rolleyes1

Going to try and work on that one now....we got off early today because the students start tomorrow. DH is out of town on business, so I'll have plenty of time to work on the post.....IF the kids don't kill each other....it's raining now, so they are stuck inside!

Great update about Rose & Crown! Sounds like y'all had a nice lunch. We really enjoyed our dinner there in May & would definitely go back. If you do ever go back (& if you like chocolate), the Chocolate Scotch Cake is REALLY good!

Ooooh another update :cool1: Your family does look absolutely exhausted! I really want to do F&G at Epcot one day. My girls would love it!

BTW...I did officially change to WL yesterday for November :goodvibes

I love your early morning pictures...so beautiful. I will make a point to get myself up early and wander next time. We are early risers but its usually in enough time to get out the door. Next time I will force myself to take in the beauty:thumbsup2

I was cracking up picturing you running to get the FP.:lmao: I love it.

Great review of Rose and Crown. We ate at the CS for the first time during our princess (Im sure you remember reading about my love for their fish and chips). It was so delicious I definitly would try the TS. Never before would I have even thought about it but your review sealed my confidence that Im sure it would be great. I would do lunch too. I agree that there are so many better dinner options.

Cant wait to read more but I have a sense of sadness that I know soon your trip is coming to an end and that means I wont have any more updates to look forward to. Your TR has been excellent. By far one of the best ones Ive read and some of the best pictures to look at.

I always figured that probably getting a 730ish reservation time woul set it up nicely. That way your just ending your meal (most likely) when Illuminations is starting/going on. I can't imagine they let you stay that long after Illuminations if the park is closing so I wouldn't want anything later then 8 because then you might have to rush through your meal. But then again, I dont know. How long did it take you to eat there?

If I remember correctly, the Mad Hatter who was awesome!, Alice, Mary Poppins, Pooh, & Tiger. Here's the link to my review....

1900 Park Fare

Isn't the new Fantasy Land supposed to be open late 2012? :confused3 I bet you will be able to see something! It's gonna be awesome, and Reid is going to love MNSSHP. Just give him a good nap before...he'll need one in order to make it to midnight. My kids fell asleep in the strollers!

Is it bad that I've only been to the Rose & Crown's bar?

No comment :rotfl:

So you did it! Is it a done deal...or will you change again:rolleyes1

FYI....your ticker is making me jealous......as Faith would say..."No fair!!"

You're too nice! Thanks! We've really enjoyed doing this TR...kinda like reliving the trip, ya know. Yep...only 2 more days of our quest remain. I still have quite a few more installments to do, though. I've got to get those "old" pictures of the CR and River Country scanned so I can share them....it's so funny to look at pictures from the 80s:laughing:

Thanks again for your kind words!

It didn't take long to eat...maybe an hour. However, when we ate at Hacienda, we stayed well after Illuminations...kinda walked around and got some pictures. By the time we got to the monorail, there was no line.

1900 Park Fare

Thanks for that link! I know one thing for sure....I would absolutely love that character meal! Alice in Wonderland & Mary Poppins are 2 of my favorite movies! I think I'm going to have put it on the list of contenders for ADR's.

Yeah, they keep saying late 2012. Don't they know I need specific dates? :lmao: How can an OCD Disney planner create the perfect vacation without knowing when everything is definitely opening? Oh well, guess they don't care that I want specifics. :rotfl: But, I am hoping that a lot of it will be open by the time we get down there. We are actually going to drive for the first time ever. So, we're planning on leaving Friday, Oct. 19th after dinner & driving half-way. Then, we'll arrive at CR on Sat. Oct. 20th. So, I'm hoping since we're going in the last half of October that most of the expansion will be open. I just hope it's not going to be crazy busy.

I am so excited about MNSSHP! I want us all to dress up as a family. We had talked about going this year, and Reid had said he wanted to be Buzz, I could be Jessie & Ed could be Woody. I thought that was too cute so I hope he still likes the Toy Story characters come next year. I'm definitely going to try & get him to nap that day. Start saying prayers for me now that he'll sleep!

Your early morning pictures were amazing. I thought I was the only one up who gets up to see that amazing sunrise over Bay Lake :lmao:. I am sooo hoping we are not gonna miss the CR in a few weeks. It has been so long since we have done a trip where we didn't stay there.

That picture of Jesse waking up in the bed with Woody is so....Disney!
The other pictures are great also. All your children are so cute!
We have never eaten at the Rose & Crown. We definitely want to on our next trip.
My DS was watching Pass the Plate (about fish) on the Disney Channel and they switch over to a boy in England talking about how he loves the fish and chips his mum makes. My DS said I want to try those. I told him the closest we'll get to those fish and chips is to eat at England the next time we are at Epcot. The fish and chips look delicious in your pictures.
I can't believe only 2 more days:sad1:
However, I can't wait to see the pictures from the 80's - so glad you took the time to find them.
Have a magical day!:)
Amy

So glad you enjoyed R&C! As I said before, it is our family tradition to have lunch there on our first day in the parks. I agree with you, I don't think we would go for dinner. The food is good, but there are so many other great places to have dinner at Epcot. I don't think it would ever make our dinner list. Did you eat dinner at Epcot that night? I can't wait to see!!!!

Ok...wow! Your ticker says 3 weeks!!!:dance3: Bet y'all are super excited! I'm sure you won't miss the CR (too much;))...I love the Poly...there's so much atmosphere there, and ya can't beat the view from the beach. Glad to know there are more crazy people who get up early!:rotfl:

I'm not sure how close the Fish & Chips are to the ones in England, but man are they good at R&C!!! ....good and greasy:laughing:

My kids had fun looking at our old Disney pictures...I think they were a bit scared when they saw the bathing suit I was modeling at River Country:scared1::laughing:

We didn't eat at EP...went to Mickey's Backyard BarBQ. Going to try and get the EP afternoon post done tonight and then do MBYBBQ. Of course there are still a few places at EP we need to try, but just didn't have time on this trip. We actually would like to try Morocco and Germany. I've read bad things about both, but want to make that determination myself;)

Heather - love the early morning pics of CR. I tend to get up early and have been known to do the resort morning thing too.

Loved the pics of Rose & Crown, we have ate there at least once for lunch but this trip our last night will be spent hopefully having our fish & chips then watching IllumiNations for there, Have my fingers crossed I have a 7:35pm ADR that I booked back on day 180.

Can't wait to read the backyard BBQ review, just today I pointed out these marshmallow that were huge to DH while shopping , told him maybe I should buy a bag and take them to Disney then we could go do the BBQ and bring those, he looked at me like I was crazy and kept walking. Sometimes I so wish I had a lil kid as an excuse to do some of the things I want to do at Disney :rotfl:

Your positive Rose and Crown experience makes me all the more excited to try it in February!

It's been fabulous reading through your report--your early morning pictures are AMAZING! Can't wait to see what happened at the BBQ. :goodvibes

Love the pics of the CR. Your TR is so much fun to read! Makes me want to do one of my own to relive everything!

:wave2: Shelia! If you have a 7:35 ressie, then you're all set!! That's great! They say that's one of the best spots to watch Illuminations. Wish my ticker was looking more like yours:laughing: February seems sooooo far off...probably because it is:scared1:

I was hoping to get that EP post finished last night so I could get MBYBBQ done today...not gonna happen:rolleyes: Oh well....

Thanks! Are y'all doing lunch or dinner at R&C in February? And if you like eggs, that Scotch Egg is out of this world!!!:thumbsup2

Love the pics of the CR. Your TR is so much fun to read! Makes me want to do one of my own to relive everything!

Thanks! We've enjoyed putting this TR together....and go ahead:laughing:...put one together! I'll follow along...love reading about other people's experiences.

What a lovely family you have. A great trip report and your photographs are amazing.

I was interested to see the interior of the cabins as we stay at the Davy Crockett Ranch at Disneyland Paris. It looks like they are very similar.

We have this Toy Story money box. DH puts his spare change in it and we use the money for treats.
