3 Families doin' a Surf & Turf Trip! AKL CL & Dream...Good-Byes

Ah, a teaser for Jiko! Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Love the report about BB, it will give me a lot to think about. It will probably be a few years before I get my family there.

Congrats to Stephen! Tell him another lady thinks he rocks!:cheer2: I wouldn't go down that, especially after standing at the top!

Addison knows that we are going on a trip for her birthday instead of having a party but I think she thinks that we are going to American Girl in Atlanta. We've been there in the past but hopefully Disney will trump that. Although she is so AG obessed right now, I'm somewhat fearful. :confused3 I think she isn't even thinking that Disney would be an option, we're always preaching that we have to save to got to Disney. I'm not sure how we will reveal the trip, maybe either a scavenger hunt or a riddle-type search. She loves those, but once its completed, it's hit the car and away we go. We are going to trip the drive thru the night this time. It's been a long time since I've done that, so we'll see how that goes, we can't quite bounce back the way we used too!

I can't wait to hear about Jiko. Did you try the flatbread?? I can say, in two meals there, I've never had anything that I didn't love. I think its my favorite WDW resturant.

Christine

I am :rotfl2: that Jesse just took it upon himself to go off on his own and head down a slide. What an adventurer!

That view from the top is impressive!

Judging by the clouds, looks like you got out of there in the nick of time!

What a great day at Blizzard Beach! :thumbsup2 Jesse is so adorable trying to reach the ropes! :rotfl: I can't wait to hear how you liked Jiko. We tried Boma, and I wasn't a HUGE fan, but it wasn't horrible! I just probably wouldn't do it again! :lmao: Although, my mom liked it!

Did Boma, too...and I'm with you on that one;) More on that later....

My kids love Blizzard Beach !!! We love Teamboat Springs and think it is worth the 300 steps it takes to get there. Yes, I counted. Looks like you had a great time !!! I enjoyed the pictures Pop took from way up high.

What??! Did you really??!! It felt like 500!!!:scared1: The chairlift was down for a bit, so we walked one time.

Well, it picked us really.WE did David's DVC. Our 1st choice was CR or AKL CL:thumbsup2 either of them would have been nice for 3 nights. 7 months in advance they were sold out for our dates!!:headache: However, we got an extra night @ SSR for the same amont of $. :woohoo:So we jumped @ it & love DTD so the boat across will be nice. Oh...& the pool is rated highly in unofficial guide. :woohoo:[again, hope we get "pool"weather] All in all I'm used to mod & value so I'm sure we'll LOVE it. Then next time,if we like David's we'll book a year ahead for a week!!:woohoo:

Pics look so cute!!! I'd a been a mess if my DS2 was missing for a sec!!![can't wait for that in the future] But OMGosh your kids are soo cute!!!

We've been throwing the idea around about using David's DVC. Have you been pleased with it thus far?? And how great to get an extra night for the same money:thumbsup2 We have friends that absolutely love SSR...in fact they took a quick trip during July 4th. They have stayed at SSR several times. We've been wanting to try a villa...maybe BCV or BWV...not sure, yet.

And Jesse ...well...let's just say we are use to it....wandering off is so normal for him. One day his independence is gonna get the best of him.

Will do! ;)

She's gonna love it!! Are you kidding me?! My kids would go wild if I surprised them with a Disney trip. Did you ever decide on specifics about dining? Or are you really gonna take it easy??;) How long is y'alls drive? I've only done an all-nighter in the car once. You'll be so excited about WDW that you'll be wide awake!

I loved the review of BB as it has been over 14 years since I have been to one of the water parks. Might be something we try to fit in when we go in November.

Can you tell me how you made the AG Minnie Ears? I would love to try to make some for my girls' dolls as I am sure they will be making the trip to Disney with us. Did you a AG size headband or just attach to a ribbon?

Thanks!

We actually just Googled Minnie Mouse ears for a doll and tons of sites popped up. Here's a link that might help. It says to sew the ears, but we just used hot glue and it worked fine. We bought all the supplies at Wal-Mart. It wasn't too hard...just a little time consuming, but worth it of course.

Minnie Mouse Ears

Hope that helps!

Jesse's adventures are gonna bite him in the behind, I'm afraid. He always says..."Mommmmm...I'm fine!!!"

Wait til' you see the pictures of the torrential downpour that occurred;)

Great update, Heather! BB looks so fun, and it looks like your family was having a blast!

Jesse is kind of giving me a heart attack though with the wandering! :scared1:

I can't wait to hear about Jiko. I have never eaten there but always wanted to.

You have seriously made me consider BB for a future trip. It just looks like such fun! One big reason I havnt been in years is because I have a phobia of wet trash. I know, it's weird. Did you happen to notice how clean it was?

Definite kudos for Stephen bringing the flip flops down. Somehow missed that before.

You summed that up perferctly!!!! It is a GREAT place for family fun! You almost sound like a travel agent or something...

can't help myself! I have to say, the pics of BB almost make me want to go back again! For those of you keeping tabs on the food, Heather did not get to enjoy the 'BUCKET OF ICE CREAM'! This is also a must. It's by the ice cream shack by the ski patrol area, you get a sand bucket full of ice cream and topping, just grab a spoon for each person and you have everyone happy with a $10 bucket of ice cream!:woohoo:

Sounds like y'all had a fantastic day at BB!

I can't get over how long that lazy river looks on the map. WOW! Really, the whole park seems a lot bigger than I would have expected.

Jessie would give me an absolute heart attack with all his wandering away.

Sounds like a great day at Blizzard Beach! Faith looks like she's having the time of her life.

Jesse is making me nervous, and I'm just reading about it! :bitelip: Your nerves must be permanently shot!

Can't wait to hear about Jiko! I'm learning so much from your TR, we've never stepped foot in AKL.

For all of you wondering how to deal with Jesse the Wanderer....there's nothing to it.... 2 blood pressure pills, 3 glasses of wine, 4 valium and a good psychiatrist! JUST KIDDING!!! I have to be alert and able to move when dealing with him;)

In all seriousness, there are so many lifeguards and CMs at BB. If you have a child who is just an ok swimmer, they'll be fine...or one who wanders, no worries.

We did have a blast!!!! I'm kind of wanting to go back in the Spring....like maybe try TL (Bill... are you reading this???....:rolleyes1)

Not weird at all...wet trash is gross:eek: BB was typical Disney.....super clean!!! Even the restrooms...I don't remember seeing any trash at all. I'm funny about walking around in my bare feet, but I pretty much did that the entire time without any concerns. You would be fine:thumbsup2

WHAT??!! What bucket of ice cream??!! You did NOT give me that information prior to my travels. How did I miss something dealing with food??? Now we have to go back!!!...in the Spring.....(Bill, did you read that, too??)

It's fairly big, and after you climb 10,000 steps you'll realize just how big

You must at least put your foot in the door at AKL;) Bill and I visited several years back for the first time...ate breakfast at Boma. Then a couple of years ago, we took all the kids over for a short visit on our way back to GA...this is when we decided we MUST stay there.

:rotfl: Hmmmm.....this sounds all too familiar. When I was 2 1/2 months pregnant with Stephen, we went over to EP & DHS for the day....I rode Test Track, but thought I may be pushing it with Rock n Roller Coaster:rolleyes1 so I opted out. Certainly not my brighest idea!
Yeah...remember Body Wars......DS11, and my DH will never let me live down "scrambling his egg" as he puts it :rotfl:

This will probably shock all of you, but we lost Jesse:rolleyes1 …or shall I rephrase that…he wandered off for a brief period of time while we were at Ski Patrol Training Camp. I found him merrily sliding down one of the waterslides.[/IMG]
:scared: Thank goodness there are so many lifeguards

AHHH I missed an update!! I love your little captions, they make me LOL! Yes my children have done the disappearing act on me once or twice ;) too! Your Jesse is too cute though, that always seems to help mine when they are getting in trouble.

BB looks like so much fun! My son would love it! I've never thought of going to the water parks but you have certainly changed my mind!:beach:

What??! Did you really??!! It felt like 500!!!:scared1: The chairlift was down for a bit, so we walked one time.

I did and since I probably have about 60 pounds on you, I felt every durn one of them. But it really did take less time to walk the stairs than to wait in line for the chair lift. And who am I kidding ?? I needed the exercise anyway. I did have a bad case of "noodle legs" for the rest of the day though .... whew !!

Thank you so much for thelink to the AG ears. I had did a search but yours was a much better link than what I was finding. My girls will be so excited to have ears for their dolls.

Great report of BB!! I cannot wait to take DS:cool1: I showed him the pics and he is so excited to go as well:goodvibes

So far, I have been very happy w/ the service they provide. I was actually jumping for joy :yay:& maybe a tear of joy or 2 :sad:when the reality of be able to afford deluxe set in. :yay: They have a friendly helpful staff from my experience. Only thing is you must pay the trip in full @ time of booking. You don't qualify for WDW promos such as free dining or room discounts. But..we booked a week @ AOA w/ FD through Disney Travel & are sampling David's w/ our 4 night stay. So I'm sure I'll know 100% when I get back & I WILL report the full scoop. ;)
Note: it took me about 2 years to make my move & use David's service. A client I fully trust is a DVC member & she totally suggested it & told me she uses it when she need extra points.

:goodvibes

Your kids would just LOVE the pool @ BC!!! Now there is a slide for them!!

Back to work I went today:teacher:....students start next week. It was REALLY hard to roll myself out of bed. Oh well...another day, another dollar, another trip to Disney;)

Yeah...remember Body Wars......DS11, and my DH will never let me live down "scrambling his egg" as he puts it :rotfl:

Do I remember it??!!!   I've tried to block that memory from my mind! It makes me sick to think about it.

AHHH I missed an update!! I love your little captions, they make me LOL! Yes my children have done the disappearing act on me once or twice ;) too! Your Jesse is too cute though, that always seems to help mine when they are getting in trouble.

:rotfl: You can feel my pain...you have a little Houdini, too! Don't ya just want to pinch their heads off. But, then you get the "I love you mama!"...and you melt.

BB looks like so much fun! My son would love it! I've never thought of going to the water parks but you have certainly changed my mind!:beach:

:teeth: so happy to know you've found another Disney location to visit! That means more trips to plan!

:rotfl: 300, huh! I can assure you that the next time I visit BB or TL, I will most definitely count the stairs to the top....makes for great information on a TR. I still think it's funny that you counted...

Thank you so much for thelink to the AG ears. I had did a search but yours was a much better link than what I was finding. My girls will be so excited to have ears for their dolls.

You're very welcome!! Good luck with making the ears...and you're right...they will LOVE them!

Thank you so much. This makes me feel much better. :)

You bet:thumbsup2

Great report of BB!! I cannot wait to take DS:cool1: I showed him the pics and he is so excited to go as well:goodvibes

I hope yall have a wonderful time! What kid wouldn't love a day at a waterpark??!

Thanks a million for the info! I've been over to that site several times, but have only priced several resorts. I have not read the fine print about how to book, etc. It appears that it's around 30-35% off rack rate which is pretty good.

I will patiently wait for your full report on both resorts!popcorn::

Thank you!!! We are actually celebrating DD 2nd bday, getting married and Disneymooning while we are there! Going to be a big trip! :yay:

:woohoo: for yall!!! A 3 in 1 trip!! That's the way to do it:thumbsup2 Did you plan any character meals for your daughter?
