3 Families doin' a Surf & Turf Trip! AKL CL & Dream...Good-Byes

I can't wait to try the eggplant/goat cheese cup! I LOVE goat cheese! I didn't know they had a kids table w/food for them. How cool! My boys are going to love it, especially if they see the Wii out.
Thanks so much for the pics & menus! This is so much better than the offerings at CR! I can't wait!!!

Moving right along….:car:

good to see the Ferrari van back in action!:yay:

Thank goodness for a rainy day - Stephanie, Sue and I were getting antsy:hyper:

Excellent and thorough lounge food review! I find many favorable comparisons with The Old Faithful Club and I know DH would love the appetizer selection. I love that they replenish the food often and keep the lounge area neat and tidy, which can be a real challenge with some guests.

Yes, I saw Lisa's comment about Kidani and quiet appeals to us, however, you're really making AKL CL look good enough to change to;). Was it crazy like the Poly or more sedate?

Thank heavens for the rain or it may have been another day or two before I finished this installment...:rolleyes1 The pool was calling my name....

From what I remember, the Poly got really busy. We ate breakfast fairly early at the Poly so we were able to get a table. We were only in there a couple of times at night, and it seemed to be lots of people....or maybe I should say overly excited guest;) And the plates were not cleared from the table....desserts ran out, too. AKL guest seemed rather subdued...no rushing the buffet, so to speak. Any time the food ran out, it was immediately replaced. The only time there were no tables was when it was a torrential downpour outside...but that's understandable. The staff was more friendly, too.

Those CL offerings...boy oh boy did those desserts look ammmmazing!

Its always interesting to hear how the different CL do things.

Cant wait to hear about Sanaa.

Many of the desserts were offered at Boma....no Zebra Domes, though:(

The kid's table was a hit with my children....AND the TV....AND the coloring pages...AND the Wii:cool1: I think I even bowled a few games with the kids and played a game or two of Speed Slice:thumbsup2 ....just don't ask who won...

Ok Doc...you've confused me:upsidedow Are you asking how to quote without the pictures?

sorry teacher, I didn't ask that question very well. I have gone to the tech board and I still am having trouble - I do have a masters degree in science, but anyway..

for example, if I were to want to quote just one sentence out of your last trip installment, like you do when you responded to my question in the last post, I click the quote button, then it takes me to the 'reply to thread' area I am typing in now, but it shows your entire installment, the entire post, and I only want to quote and respond to one sentence.... I then have to delete everything except the part I want? Or is there a way to highlight the sentence you want to quote and get it to still show the original poster? I'm probably still not making sense. Sorry, this is :offtopic:!

Thanks for the update! Love it and mouth watering as we speak! hummus is my absolute favorite!:thumbsup2

You are making perfect sense! I want to know the same thing!

Okay class...:teacher:

Step #1...

 You were right...you have to delete everything but the part you want. Just make sure the beginning QUOTE and end QUOTE are attached with brackets... Does that make sense?

You're welcome;) I could actually use a midnight snack right about now...hummus and pita chips would be great!! Perhaps it's time I go to bed...it is 12am. I'm usually asleep at this hour.

Thanks, Pas...I knew you would have my back. I'll be waiting anxiously by the mailbox. Is it coming UPS or FedX??? popcorn::
Fed EX overnight :goodvibes

And those scones...YUM. Heather you did a great job with the offerings(although you ALWAYS rock the TR scene):worship:

I know!!! They did not have the kids stuff when we were there in 2010! A serious contender for a revisit for us!!:hyper:

You're too kind, Pas:goodvibes

Ok...so what was so different about AKL CL in 2010? No Wii??? If you look at older pictures of the lounge, it looks like they moved some of the furniture around to create that kid's space. Apparently the staff desk use to be in that corner....maybe those were REALLY old pics that I was looking at. Here's what I was talking about...see below...no kid's corner.

The Wii was in the main lobby in the afternoons. The kids tables were in the right back corner close to the offerings. I don't recall such an array of offerings. The snacks are the same, but no separate kids offerings...REALLY kiddo friendly! And the CMs desk was in that corner like the pic!

I like how kid friendly CL @ AKL seems to be. Bringing out the Wii is especially fun!

Yes! Yay for rain, we were getting ready to drag you out of the pool :beach:

Wow! Amazing food, will I remember to go to the parks? I might just park myself in the lounge and never move. They may need a crane to get me out :rotfl2: I saw the signs for Boma, is there any food there from Jiko?
Getting so excited. Only 1 month to go :goodvibes

From the looks of the older picture, the change was a huge improvement! The kids are kind of secluded in their own space now...much better I would think. And that Wii station is out of the way...not intruding on anyone that wants a little peace and quiet.

I finally made it over to your thread! But only read through the first 5 pages....have to take the kids to see a movie;) ...more when I get back.

:rotfl: No worries....the thunderstorms are grossly intruding once again on my pool time:upsidedow They have caused me to spend unnecessary money at the movie theatre...it's a small fortune these days!!!

Ya know...I'm assuming some of the food was from Jiko as well because the conceirge staff and I discussed it...just don't remember exactly what.

:wave2: From one Georgia girl to another!
I actually live in Effingham County (small world!)
I have enjoyed your TR so far-I'm actually staying at the AKL Club Level for the first time (never stayed CL anywhere!) on my next trip in Oct 2013. You have been very informative and I look forward to reading more about y'alls trip!

No kidding!!!! Guess what county we're in?? Effingham! Definitely a small world...wow! I'm sure y'all aren't looking forward to school starting in a couple of weeks, either:upsidedow Will y'all be going to WDW during Fall Break in October 2013? Great time to go...not too hot or cold.

Glad you found us:goodvibes I look forward to you following along.
Heather
