Cheapo ponchos from walmart! 88 cents a piece and well worth it to not carry the big ones!! I'd also be stocking up on "car toys" like books, magazines, cooler stock, gum, candy, chips...

My list includes a couple of last minute items for ds' hallween costume. DH decided he also wants a fanny pack. I need some new socks---I wear sandals for 90% of the year, so I just don't have enough socks. Diapers for the baby. Another set of headphones and a spliter so dh and ds can both listen/watch a movie on the computer. I need to buy a laptop lock. And my sister offered us her video camera, so now I need to pick up some tapes. Some things I've picked up along the way:

OTC meds
anti-bacterial gel/wipes
small first aid kit
batteries

I also bought some travel containers for shampoo and such. I raided the travel section for deoderant and toothpaste and such. And since my dh, dd, and ds all have allergies, asthma, and eczema I always feel like I'm bringing everything but the kitchen sink.

Bring allergy medicine. Since you're in NY, it's really a different season in Florida. With all the beautiful flowers and plants, someone is bound to be allergic to something!

Also, I always seem to forget to bring a night light.
