Have never posted a trip report before, but after the first few days I thought I would share some neat things that have happened. We arrived on the evening of October 22nd around 9pm. Although luggage didnt arrive until midnight which wasnt so bad my 11 DD was beside herself because her pillowcase that she has had for over 10 years was missing. She took it off on the plane so no one would see it (Raggity Ann) but when she got to the room it was no where to be found, She tore through all luggage, her carry on, nothing. A few tears later and sleep finally came.
She awoke the next morning and told us she dreamed she had found it. She was sad and when she got out of the shower she went to get her clothes and there on top of the suitcase was the pillowcase!!! I looked, her mom looked, and she looked. I just told her it was Disney Magic and if you believe good things happen!
We went to breakfast at the Wilderness Lodge where we are staying and while waiting we struck up a conversation with a family that was leaving. Nothing special, just friendly conversation about their stay and what we wanted to see. We both had breakfast and we went our seperate ways. We went up to our room to get ready for AK and there was a knock on the door, the family saw our room number on our bill and since there were leaving and didnt use their snack credits, they bought us 6 waters, 6 diet cokes and other snacks and delivered it to us with just good wishes and enjoy the week. We dont even know their names!! More Disney Magic!
We had a great day at AK which was deserted all day and we actually got bored of going on Everest (5 times!!) The park closed at 5 that day and we had 5 o'clock reservations at Tusker House. It was only 1/4 full!!! We stuffed ourselfs and went back to the room to get ready for MK fireworks and parade and headed over to the MK. We walked straight to the area around Walts Statue just as the fireworks were starting, AMAZING location, no one pushing, and saw a wonderful Wishes display. We walked around for a bit finding hidden Mickeys and got a wonderful place at Liberty Square for the Parade.
I will take a moment to describe the crowds and Lines.......there just really arent any. I have been trying to be smart about which parks we go to, but I have never experienced such low crowds. The major attractions still have a bit of lines, but nothing like I have ever experienced before.
Also my daughter is collecting autographs as she does each trip on a white hat with differant color perm. markers. Its amazing when its done. So far in 3 days in she has 33 differant signitures with a goal of 50ish. I will try and post pictures of it once we are done. But this leads to her highlight of the day today!
We were at HS today (more on that later) and were at the last Indiana Jones show today. Great show as usual and when it ended we didnt want to fight the crowds so we sat and let the crowd thin. Indiana Jones and Marin the two stunt actors were chatting on the set and my DD stood down by the stage and when Marin looked over she waved and smiled at her. Marin walked over, they chatted a bit (we were up at the top) and my daughter asked if she would sign her hat. She did and then went and got Indiana Jones (I know stuntman) and he came over, chatted, and signed her hat. By this time I had made my way down and thanked them for taking the time to sign and talk, they invited her out onto the stage to take a look around (no pictures) and to pose for pictures with both of them!! Amazing experience that only came about because she took the inititive to ask. I was so proud of her. Then to top off the evening we came back just at dusk and there is an alligator in the pool below our room!!!
More later if people are interested!!
