ok, making my ADR in like 3 days and Im still (STILL) undecided about one of my choices so where else to turn but to the dis vets and ppl who know way more than me.. Please i welcome any and all persepective and advice

The last day of our trip we are doing MK, well i wanted to have dinner early so we can go back to the park and enjoy the festivities. WELL heres the issue...

my sons 9 and 2
my brother 17
my husband and myself... would 1900 Park Fare or Whispering Canyon be better???? I want something we can get to by boat directly from the MK kinda fast transportation kinda thing.. we are doing Crystals palace earlier on in the week...
Food is important ... characters not so much, but its a perk ... I know they would enjoy Whispering Canyon... is 1900 more for girls with Cindy and such??? Is the food just soooo much better at one place or the other ?? what would you choose??? i have 2 first timers with me as well...

You'll see Whispering Canyon routinely thrashed here in DISworld, but we prefer it to 1900 PF. 1900 is a good Disney buffet; it may trend a little toward feminine tastes.

Whispering Canyon is just fun. And if you're traveling with carnivores, they can definitely get their meat fix.

What about Kona Cafe at the Poly? We also like Whispering Canyon and we eat there every trip, however we went with a large party last year and some of them did not like it. Last year was our first night for Kona and it was great. You could hop over from the monorail and then back to MK.

For the ages and gender of your party I'd choose Whispering Canyons Cafe. We like 1900 better in terms of food, but they are both good, decent restaurants with a lot of fun going on

Now I haven't been to either yet, but from what I've read in reviews and seen in pictures, I think Whispering Canyon might be better for your group...

I understand your concern for 1900 being kind of 'girly,' as I've gotten the same impression, not that I never want to take my testosterone-driven family there, but I think that we need to experience more restaurants before then... we've only done a few different restaurants despite years of trips.

I think you should go with your gut this time and do Whispering Canyon! The antics and manly meat should work well... and bottomless milkshakes! :lovestruc

Yes Im traveling with a bunch of BOYS!!!!!! LOL..

I have had nightmares about the food coming out at other places NOT BUFFET and them look at me like "is this it??":lmao:

Im thinking WC on this one, and the two year old needs to be stimulated food alone doesnt always do it.. LOL..
I just want to try other places too... so many to choose from

Im going to check out Kona now :)

Thanks for the tips you guys.. :worship:

I think WCC is a good choice for this discussion.

Chef Mickey's would be a MUCH better choice for a character meal. Your boys will appreciate the rowdiness of Chef Mickey's (they tell you to wave your napkins in the air). They will look at you like what is this when Pooh arrives for his hug...lol DH will be of no assistance as they look at you with "that look" either. He'll likely be overcome with laughter watching you 'splain it. Maybe you want CP for the 2yo. Then just 'splain that to the boys before the meal so you don't get the looks.

Chef Mickey's features: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto

You might want to think about dinner at Ohana. It's all you can eat meat from skewers! And there's some entertainment for the kids (coconut races and such).

Try and see if you can get res. at O'hana quick monorail ride to restaurant. Fun for kids and good food!

I was disappointed in the dinner at 1900 Park Fare last time I went (it used to be better). I think you would be better off with WCC -my DS8 loved it. Plus 1900 Park Fare has Cinderella for dinner-I'm not sure if your sons would want to see her. The stepmother and stepsisters are entertaining. My DS8 thought it was very corny when Cinderella and Prince Charming danced. Another option is Ohana--they have good food. Good luck deciding.

Of the 2 listed I would say WCC for sure. However if you can get 'Ohana I would give that a shot- It's our favorite "standard" sitdown meal on property.

If It was me, I would do Ohanna's

The food keeps on coming, its YUMMY!! YUMMY! Did I say how YUMMY the food is

They have the singing, and parades for the little ones..

and Its YUMMY!

thanks for all the input you guys, we are on the dining plan, isn't O'hana's 2 TS credits?? I could be wrong, i thought it was??

Whispering Canyon is a blast and the food was great! Between the two you suggested, I'd pick it.

Ohana is 1 ts credit and it is awesome. We loved it and are going back again on our next trip, I hope!

If its still between 1900 and WCC I would go with WCC all the way. We went to both on our last trip and 1900 was the ONLY place that DH said he would never go back to. 2 of my kids said they would but they are girls and only because of Cindy my DS said NO WAY as well. We went to WCC for our Christmas meal and DH loved it and is asking to go again but when they have their regular menu.

No, 'Ohana is only 1 TS credit and if that was what was holding you back from making the ressie, I would definitely do 'Ohana. Between 1900 Park Fare and WCC - go with WCC for your group.

We love Kona, we go once every trip and we are at Disney at least three times a year. WCC is also good, but we prefer Kona.

My family just doesn't see what everyone else sees in Ohana. Food is average and you may of may not be lucky enough to get a view of the castle.
