After lots of research and reality checks, we've decided that we need 3 days, not hopper tickets for the beginning of March. We'll visit MK, Epcot and Hollywood studios.

I'm getting conflicting information from videos. Some say buy immediately because prices always rise. Others say to wait for a special. I see a 3 day ticket for Disney+, but it doesn't include MK and MK is important to me this time.

Originally, I was going to do 4 days since we're arriving in the early morning the first day. I've since adjusted the plan to make it a resort day because at some point, we'll need a nap since we will only have about 3 hours of sleep on the red eye. Part of me thinks I might get a second wind and want to hit a park for a couple hours that first day, if we have a good nap. The other part of me thinks I should just stay at the resort (Copper Creek) and book a dinner at Artist's Point.

What would you all do regarding tickets for 3 days with the slightest possibility of adding the arrival day last minute?

There is also the option of going to Disney Springs in the afternoon on arrival day and staying there for dinner if you don’t feel like hanging out at your resort. I would do that or just do a pool day at the resort rather than add a day’s park admission to the ticket, especially if you were thinking of using it to add AK which closes earlier than the other parks.

You can’t really predict when price changes might hit. They could go up tomorrow or they could wait until next summer when the 2027 packages go on sale. You will find a lot of conflicting info online because ticketing has changed so much in the past few years. If you see the ticket you want at a price you are willing to pay, then it’s usually a good idea to go ahead and buy it. For a March 2026 trip, I would probably plan to buy the tickets after the holidays so I could watch for a good sale over Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but that is just me.

Interesting, I thought prices were set unless you were buying 1 day tickets. Ive noticed when ticket deals are released they usually tend to exclude MK. For when we are going in February we saved abut $80 with this offer and adding 1 day at MK. I just looked at 4 day prices 2 days ago for the Feb trip.

Sometimes they raise prices mid year, or even multiple times per year. Typically it’s overnight with little warning. So if you bought tickets ahead of the change, the old price is locked in, but if you didn’t or if you want to modify your ticket, you are subject to the new rates.

In your case, if you have already bought your tickets for February you are locked in at the current rate. If they were to raise prices on January 1st you would not pay any more than you have already paid. But, if you decide on January 15th that you want to turn your one day MK into a two day, then you would be subject to the increased price when making the upgrade.

No we have not bought yet. I was thinking OP was saying prices would fluctuate based off demand not due to the standard ticket increases which I thought were already announced. Either way we should probably just buy them to be safe

My thoughts have been that with date-based tickets, Disney can quietly raise the cost for this range of dates or that range of dates, and no one would know unless they had been monitoring the price for those specific dates. The ticket prices that they announce publicly are generally for APs or for 1-day tickets, and the announcement for the year is always something like "tickets start at $xxx.xx" or "tickets range from $xxx.xx to $xxx.xx."

IOW, if you're able to buy your tickets now, I'd do it. If you get there and decide you want to add a day, you can do it then, but as you suspect, you'll pay the difference between whatever you pay for a 3-day ticket now for the dates you want vs. the online price at that time for a 4-day ticket for those dates.

Buying from an authorized ticket reseller can save you a little money, because if you add a day when you're there, you'll pay the difference between Disney's online price the day you buy the 3-day tickets (make a note of what it is!) and Disney's price when you upgrade, so you won't lose the discount. Or, buy Disney gift cards at a discount (we get 5% off with our Target Circle credit card and also watch for DGC sales through the year) and buy your tickets directly from Disney.
