Will my DD 2-1/2 be scared of the 3-D attractions? Muppets, Philharmagic, Tough to be a bug, ... I've heard Tough to be a bug can be scary, what about the others?

Thanks!!

my 3 yo DS and 5 yo DD faired well @ Phil and Bugs Life. I caught them looking away at times during Bugs Life. Phil wasn't scarey @ all.

My then 2 1/2 year old daughter did just fine. The only thing that startled her is when the snake comes at you in honey I shrunk the audience!:earseek:

Little DD absolutely loved Mickey's Philharmagic. I was surprised that she wore her glasses the whole time. She reached out to "touch" things and sang and laughed.

It was so special watching her watch the show. I had to go back again to see the show - it is excellent.

DH stayed with her while I took the others to ITTBAB. I think the spiders falling from the ceiling would frighten her. She is definately not afraid of "buggies" as she calls them

Have a great time.:D

My kids always loved them at that age. The first time we saw PHIL my 2 year old was fine. We went back 6 months later in the horrible late June heat, she was tired and hot and freaked out, ruined the rest of her night. So just listen to your little one's feelings at the moment. Because I have learned once a child gets freaked out it could really ruin a trip. (Happened to us one year)

Good Luck,
Irene

my 2yr ds wouldn't wear the 3d glasses in june  he was fine. i expected him to freak a bit during ITTBAB because we were right in front of 'hopper' but he still didn't freak out :teeth:

he'll be a few months shy of 3 when we go again in january and i expect this will all change.

My then 23 month old did not like the 3d movies (Muppets, Philharmagic and we didnt even attempt Bugs Life). He did fine until the physical effects occurred (water spray, air puff, etc). After that it was all over, even with the glasses off. After the first effect, he seemed to recover and tried to grab at the screen, but the next one would be it. I guess he realized he couldnt "trust" the movie at that point. It took a few months to get him over his fear of the dark too after that (he never was afraid of the dark and even now it doesnt bother him). I dont know if we will try again in Jan or not. He did see a 3d movie at the zoo. He tried to grab the screen and looked away a few times, but showed no trauma afterwards. Id say go ahead and try one, but sit near the exit in case you have to get out of there in a hurry. Thankfully the movie was loud enough and I could barely hear my son crying.

My then 3 1/2 DD and 22 month old DS enjoyed all of them and we did some of them twice. My DS did hold his hands in front of his face a few times. If they get scared about the things coming at them, you can always take the glasses off.
