I'm really looking forward to 3-D flicks such as Mickey's Philhermonic, and the Muppet show, but I wear glasses - meaning I've never had much luck at 3-D movies in the past. Does Disney have a contigency plan for those of us who are stuck wearing glasses?

I keep hearing about this "sting" from Tough to be a Bug - what exactly is that? I'm finding it really hard for almost anyone to enjoy being stung...

I wear glasses and the 3d glasses fit fine over them. I haven't had any trouble.

I, too, wear glasses and the 3-D glasses are large enough to fit over my own pair. I think you be pleasantly surprised how well you will be able to see the 3-D effects . . . as long as you don't have periphereal vision problems nor an uncorrectable vision problem (ie, blind in one eye not fixable with glasses). Have a great trip!

Same as above...no problem at all.

The "sting" isn't really a sting...it is just an effect and your brain makes you think it's a sting. It doesn't really hurt it just surprises you. Relax it's all make believe.

I wear glasses, and I've never had a problem with the 3-D glasses. They aren't the size of typical glasses so they should easily cover your regular glasses. And the "sting", don't worry about it, it doesn't hurt.

I wore glasses before during the all four shows with no problems whatsoever. As for the sting.. it's more of a quick jet of air that is shot at you.. never really understood why Disney put those in.. unless they want to disorient all of us.. but whatever. The stings aren't really a thrill or a threat as they are more or less an annoyance than anything else.

Glasses - no probs!

Sting in Bugs Life is a poke in the back --- right at the right time ... you will be just fine! :thumbsup2

wait.. they really do poke you? I don't remember that.. lol.. I must be thinking of the champainge corks in Phillharmagic.. sorry :guilty: I was always under the impression that it was all air lol.

i wear glasses and im usually fine, sometimes i take them off for the show since the screen is so big. but yeah, usually no problems.

I'm nearsighted and have to wear glasses when I watch movies and I always wear my 3D glasses over my regular glasses. You don't have a thing to worry about. :thumbsup2

Maybe I've got a bony back ... maybe I was sitting at just the wrong angle, but I took 'the sting' dead on my lower spine! Trust me, I did feel it, and it wasn't all that pleasant. I'll chalk that one up to a very rare occurance I guess. Everyone else seemed to be fine

My DH has some periphereal vision problems(partically detatched retina) and wears glasses. He said that he could see most of Philharmagic.

Thank you everyone! I'm feeling much better about this aspect of the trip now... :cloud9: I was so looking forward to the 3-D shows, that I have to admit this was a concearn... one less worry thanks to the wonderful people who responded :wizard:

Its not a sting. Its a quick poke in the back with a not sharp stick or whatever. Its a surprise, so thats the "shocking" part. There are puffs/blasts of air that come at you as well as a few other little surprises (dont let us give it all away!) but Tough--Bug is not to be missed. And ditto ref the 3d glasses being just fine over regular ones. The 3d shows are terrific, catch as many as you can.

I just got back and did all the 3D shows. I wear glasses and it was fine really did enjoy the shows especially tough to be a bug!

The sting made me jump completely up out of my seat the first time I was at ITTBAB. Now I just sit forward in my seat because I don't want to look like a chicken again.

Hehe, ITTBAB was something else let me tell you. Second time through, I made sure to sit right on the edge of the seat and then looked around smugly as everyone else screamed and jumped forward.

:confused3 We came back last week and you reminded me about the sting. My daughter happened to be sitting forward in her seat so she totally missed it. The poke made me jump about a foot off my seat - didn't know it was coming. It didn't bother my hubby but believe it or not it bothered my 9 year old son. So I'm with brocktoon - I guess if it pokes you just right it can be a little annoying. I actually had to check his back when we came out because it hurt him. After about 10 mts. he never mentioned it again though.

I too, wear glasses, and the 3D movies were great.

I typically cannot see 3D optical illusions. My eyes do not work together, so, when I wear the 3D glasses with one red and one blue, I just see red and blue, no 3D.

BUT the 3D shows at disney were GREAT. I could see all of those effects.

I also wear glasses and the the :3dglasses fit fine over mine. I did find a slight problem viewing the movies though. Especially when the 3D "jumps" off the screen at you. For some reason I couldn't get my eyes to adjust properly to that.

As far as the "stinger" in ITTBAB, I believe it's a rubber piece that comes out from the back of the seat (at least that's what I felt when I put my hand on the back of the seat). It doesn't hurt, but does make you jump.
