I am new here and could not find an answer in the FAQ or
with the search feature.

We rented a 2 bedroom at BWV over Easter and everyone
loved it so much that I'd like to buy points enough for a 3
bedroom at BWV.

Question: if I were to buy the points that I need at SS, how
long should I expect to wait to get the 3 bedroom at BWV?
We'd like to go again in October, would there be time enough
if I were to buy the points in June? Since we'd like to bring
young kids and elderly family members, the room service and
short distances at BVW are very convenient.

Thanks a lot for any help on this :).

A 3 bedroom at BWV is a Grand Villa and will be fairly difficult to get in the 7 month window except at the very slowest times. October will be very busy at BWV because of the Food & Wine Fest at Epcot. I would be surprised if there are any 3 bedrooms available for this coming October. Actually, I'd be surprised if much of anything is available for this coming year. I would try to reserve a 3 bedroom at SSR as backup and then maybe ask a member to get on a waitlist for BWV.

I don't want to discourage you, but there are not very many 3 beds at BWV. If you want to try to rent points for a future date, you might consider making arrangements with a BWV owner well ahead of the 11 month window so they can grab it for you.

My thoughts exactly...probably almost imposible in Oct..

Thanks a lot for the replies which were all extremely helpful!

I am disappointed that the grand villas at BWV are so hard
to get - the large living/dining room looks very nice for family
reunions. We could get 2 rooms but it would be much nicer
to have everyone together.

I am trying to figure out how to bring 8 adults (3 seniors) and
4 kids (1,1,3,4) together. SS or OKW would be fine except that I
am concerned about meals and distances? What do you do for
breakfast/dinner when you have 4 young kids and a beautiful
dining room but no room service or time to cook?? How far are
the walking distances at SS and OKW compared to BWV?

I very much appreciate any feedback since this is a considerable
investment.

If you know that you will want a BWV Grand Villa on a regular basis, your best bet would be to buy a BWV resale.

These are fairly hard to find at the moment, but if you call the main resale agents and asked to be notifed when something becomes available, you will probbaly find a contract to buy within a month or two. One point in your favor is that it sounds like you want a larger contract (over 300 points.) These are actually easier to buy, since many purchasers can't afford them. Make sure you calculate how many points you will need -- BWV Grand Villas are *expensive*. They are all Boardwalk views and are six times the size of a studio, which explains their high points cost per night.

I'm not sure there is anyway to get a BWV Grandvilla for October 2004, but you could call Disney and ask if they have one for rent for that time period.

Don't be discouraged...try it. We just booked the GV at BWV last week for the last week in aug. Never had one before so we are very excited to use it. My sister and I pooled our points (506).
Knowing it will be hot and humid with a chance of storms..what better of a room to get?
We requested the 2 floor. Any opions on which is better one or two floors????

Congratulations, Pigelet, that sounds fantastic :)! Both
types look very nice from the layouts I've seen. I got the
impression that the one floor type has a larger common area?
We asked to see a 3 bedroom when we spoke to DVC at
BWV but they didn't have any. Instead, they showed us a
copy of the 2 bedrooms at SSR (which looked gorgeous
btw. - the quality of the interior was nicer than that at BWV).

I am very curious how you got this? Our own schedule is
pretty flexible so we can plan around available dates.
Do you own points at BWV and, if so, did that help?

hkp...

The only way you can get it at the 7 month window ...or less... is to cross your fingers and hope. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If you know this is the way you want to go regularly you need a BWV resale.

hkp: I think double trouble is right...with such a short window, we were just lucky!!! We crossed our fingers and got it. I do own at BWV but my sister who pooled her points with mine owns at the BCV. She was the one who made the res. first.
I have never seen a layout for the 2 floor at the BW, all the sights I went on show just the one floor unit. It would make sense that the common living area would seem to be smaller in a 2 floor. I think I'll start a thread on the difference.
