We are planning our 2011 trip - yup early need to think about how to manage points...etc.

So do these 3 bedrooms book up fast?

What are our chances of getting one at BWV at 7 months...? We prefer to be closer to Epcot but would be willing to save points and stay at OKW.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

It depends on when you are going as to how soon they book up.

Rarely can you ever find a BWV Grand Villa at 7 months (in fact rarely can you find a BWV GV at 10 1/2 months) -- usually those who have had success are looking only for weekend nights. OKW's are very often also filled before the 7 month window but you have a somewhat better chance there.

If basis for getting GV is that your party will be large (up to 12), be aware that the point cost for two 2BRs at BWV is less than the cost of a Grand Villa.

Two two bedrooms can also give you a lot more privacy if you are traveling with another family. Together time is all well and good, but sharing space and vacation for a week can remind you that your relatives aren't perfect.

We are going Oct 1-10 (2 days travel, 8 days disney) we thought about a 2 bedroom but just thought for the long trip it might be nice for the Grandparents to have own room and be able to enjoy "adult" time in living room without having to pull out bed each night. guess its really a minor issue in the long run. We just didnt want to have the extra work.

But its looking like unless the BWV are our home we will not be able to book before 7 months and ....good luck ;(

Anyone one have any luck with having someone else do the reservation at 11 - the just seems so complicated...

Oct is the F&WF and BWV will fill up fast. your chance of sa GV that week are very slim.
You could try to get an owner to book one for you at 11 months but that's up to you.:goodvibes

good luck

Even if you find an owner, there isn't a guarantee they will get the reservation at 11 months for a GV during F&W.

There are only 7 GVs at BWVs. That said, we got one for the week of Christmas 2009 just eight weeks out! I would make your plans flexible in case it works out.

We are really glad we got one because we needed all the beds and also were coordinating with other relatives already booked at BWV. If we were not doing the whole holiday thing (Christmas tree, cooking a turkey, the works), however, it would have been hard for us to justify the points to get a GV instead of 2BRs as others have recommended. The year before we just got separate units for people and my in-laws' unit became the meeting spot/hangout.

First of all, you are talking about a time period that is very popular for the Epcot resorts because of the Food and Wine festival. That makes any reservation difficult to get at BWV and BCV unless it is before the 7 month booking window opens. A GV is going to be nearly impossible. Same would likely go for OKW during that time, since OKW GVs are very popular given their low point costs.

I think instead you should consider getting a 2 bedroom plus an additional studio if you can't get a GV. We LOVE the OKW GVs, but we own there, and have always booked at exactly 11 months out from our planned GV trips.
