What is our best and most economical solution for rooms? I will also looking into renting points but wanted to see about the other resorts.

It depends on how old the children are. If one is under 2 the possibilities are enormous.

Otherwise the four most economical that I can think of, in this order are: 1 - POR (two doubles and a trundle) 2 - Family suite in the ASM (1 queen, 1 double sleep sofa, 1 chair and ottoman that each convert to a single-sized bed) 3 - Ft. Wilderness cabin (bunk beds, double and a murphy bed) 4 - Contemporary Standard View Garden Wing room (2 queens and a day bed).

Any of the other deluxes will also sleep your party in one or more of their room classes, but the prices increase quickly.

we are 3 adults and 2 kids also, I thought about doing por but desided that two rooms at one of the all-stars was the same price and it had two bath rooms and four beds and no one had to sleep on the trundle. the family suites were all taken already but to no one has to sleep on a fold out bed either i feel it was much better for us.

We also did 2 rooms at CB I think this will work out the very best. You get 3 Beds, no one is on roll a way, You also get 2 bathrooms. And you can ship the third Adult off for awhile and have some quite time.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You might also consider the cabins... they have a murphy bed in one end of the cabin that would sleep 1 or 2 adults... a regular bed and a bunk bed at the other end.... for a party of 5 especially with 2 of them kids it might give you the most space. The only down side is the bathroom doesn't have a double sink only a single... and if you are looking for a themed pool you'll be SOL.... but as far as room goes... its your best bet.

The third adult in the room would also incur an additional charge per night ($25) What about one of the DVC properties? The studios have a queen bed and an additional queen sofa sleeper. It also is slightly larger than a moderate and also has a microwave, and small refrigerator.

I agree, the ages of the children are very important when looking at your options! :)

If I were you I'd price out two rooms at a value or moderate resort. Then I'd compare it to the rate for a deluxe resort that sleeps 5. We stayed at the Poly a couple of years ago with my Mom (3 adults, 2 kids ages 4 and 6) and we were very comfortable. DH and I in one queen bed, the kids in the other queen bed and my Mom on the daybed. But if your kids are older and don't want to sleep together this option wouldn't be good.

As far as DVC resorts go you'd have to do a 2 bedroom villa to fit 5 people (unless one of the kids is 2 or under) so that's probably not going to be a cheap option.

Good luck! :)

The Family Suites start at $184 a night duing value season.
Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same et price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Info thread--Pullouts in Family Suites at ASMU with photos of how the pullout is supported.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers
The pullout chair and large ottoman each pull out into standard size twin beds.
(4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

Actually an extra adult would only be $25 per night at a deluxe. At a moderate (like POR with the trundle bed) the extra adult would be $15.00 and if one of your children is under 3 and you choose to stay at a value the extra adult would only be $10 per night
