What does this mean you ask? :confused3 Well.....

3 is the number of days my tree has been up. :flower:

5 is the number of times I've had to redecorate it after my cats were done with it.

And 2 is about how many seconds it will take me to throw the little monsters out into the snow if they do it again!!

*Sigh* Lucky for them I love the little terrors so much. ;)

coming from the owner of a playful cat... I completely understand.. ::yes::
we now make sure there are no ornaments on the bottom and also no branches on the bottom.. now, I just buy taller presents to fill the space under the tree... :goodvibes

:paw: good luck !! :cat:

Yeah I thought the same thing.........if one doesn't like animals or thinks that they belong outside should just avoid the animal threads since there are to many of us that consider them part of our families!

I have also come to the conclusion that with 6 cats I have to put the tree up in a room where I can close the door when not home........they are quite imaginative where Christmas trees are involved! :goodvibes

6 cats! Wow. I have two and they wear me out sometimes. :goodvibes I'd like to get one more but I doubt DH would go for it. BTW, love the pic in your sig. But that's just one. Won't the others be jealous? ;) You'll have to take one with all 6 posed next to each other. Cause you know cats are so easy going and always do what you want them to, so it should be no problem! :rotfl:

We have a cat and she hates Xmas time. Before we moved here she had to stay upstairs for a month and could quite creative about trying to sneak downstairs. (she had 4 rooms and a hall upstairs so she wasn't too confined). Now that we have moved she has to stay in my DD's room while we are gone. She not only molests the tree, as we put it, she tries to open gifts. She gets warnings and then has a time out in her room just like a little kid.lol All I have to do is yell CAT at her and she usually stops, but if she doesn't I tell her to get to her room she has been naughty, she takes off down the hall to DD's room. It is too funny to watch her. Sometimes she gets brave and throws herself down in the hall, but a time out is a time out.
Oh....her name you ask??? Troubles, and it suits her to a T.

I tried to tell my DH that we should just get a table top tree since Bella is still a kitten. But did he listen? Nooooo. :sad2: And our ornaments haven't even gone up yet. That's this weekend. I shudder to think...

But such cute little tree terrors they are.

Our tree is in the livingroom which we close off unless we are in there so kitty doen't destroy the tree. Last year, we put up a 2nd tree in our familyroom which consisted of all glass snowflakes and icicles. I realized about halfway through decorating it, what a mistake I was making :earseek: and figured that kitty would have a ball. I was pleasantly surprised. She sniffed around it a little bit and then walked away. She is just to lazy to be bothered. :rotfl2:

I know what you mean! Mabel was good with the tree for about 2 1/2 days....didn't even phase her....now she is chewing it and every so often will just go up to it grab the garland in her mouth and walk away. I am using a spray water bottle now and it is really working with her!

I am just giving up fixing the garland...it will just get messed up again. We are having a Christmas party tomorrow night...so I will at least fix it before people get here.

You don't know that your DH won't go for it, you just haven't planted that seed with him and/or it hasn't germinated... :teeth:

My DH would have been happy with a cat or 2. Not sure about the dogs, maybe one dog. But we had 2 dogs and 2 cats before getting 2 more kittens. Of course if it had of been up to him we would have had 2 kids...we have 4.

Took me awhile to convince him to get the kittens and I only convinced him to get one more (I wanted 2, but wasn't going to push my luck). When we went to Petsmart, he took one look at all the kittens and said, "How are we ever going to decide on 2?". Two? OK He would have brought 3 home, but I put my foot down and told him that we needed to pick out 2. :rotfl:

So you just never know with your husband. The key is making him think that it's his idea. ;)

I have a cute christmas card that I'm sending out this holiday with a cat sitting sprawled out with the expression "I'm exhausted." Guess what he's been up to, and you want to borrow the card? :rotfl:

Momma- get a squirt bottle and sit somewhere near the cat, when they get near the tree give them a squirt! I have had to do this on occasion, my cats also love the tree! Good Luck--P.s want another cat/kitten let me know! I have a total of 8 now!!!Mommyx3

If you tie bells to the bottom of the tree, it will usually work keeping the cats away. Also you could hang a few of those things that you normally would put potpouri or sachet for a dresser drawer-fill it with hot pepper and that should also work to keep them away from the tree.
Or you could just get a dog. Usually they can't be bothered! ;)
