3/14/09 Spring Break Aboard the Magic

Does you 13 yr old DD have an email? Maybe we should let our DD's exchange emails and then they could talk. I am not worried about my youngest dd.....it is my 15 yr old that I am worried about. She is not as outgoing as the younger one. She really is hoping her younger sister can go to the teen beach with her. I don't think that is allowed. Maybe she will make a friend or two!

We booked through Dreams Unlimited. Ours came by UPS Tuesday.

We are really ready for this trip. Our whole family had a bad stomach virus last week. I feel like we lost a whole week! Glad it is over!!

Off to work..........

No luggage tags for me but I booked with a travel agent.

My DD10 and DD13 both had privileges to sign out the last trip when they were 11 and 8.

Same thing about checking in with us rules but they spent a lot of time with me on the ship. I am hoping they make some friends to hang out with. :thumbsup2

I cannot imagine letting my 8 year old having sign out privilages, but I guess it is different if they have an older brother or sister.

No luggage tags for us either, wow February is going fast.

Lisa

Depends on the kids I guess...mine did just fine...

Three weeks from today, all the luggage will be packed and waiting to leave after work the next day!

Oh my it is only three weeks!! We lost all last week with the stomach virus. Now oldest dd has it....we need to get away!

Is everyone staying close to the port? We decided that we are going to stay in Orlando and go to Downtown Disney the night before the cruise. We found a hotel within walking distance with a really good rate!

I still haven't gotten luggage out yet. I guess I will do that this weekend.

Have a good day!

Hi Hopelea

The girls are in touch with each other now. :thumbsup2

I don't get the luggage out until about three days before I want to be packed up and ready to leave...otherwise we bring too much! So for this trip we will start the packing on Sunday since I need to be fully ready on Wednesday night.

I have to work a full day on Thursday and will only have time to get home and leave for the airport.

We are getting closer!

What excursions are you going to be taking?

I think I will start packing tomorrow :)

We are driving down on the 13th (600 miles). We are driving to Orlando and staying close to downtown disney on the 13th. The girls want to go shopping before at DTD before we cruise. I want to buy a tie for my dh for formal night.

We only have one DCL excursion booked, Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Martin. In St. Thomas we are going to go to Magen's bay on our own.

Do you have any excursions planned yet?

I am so excited I can barely handle it. I can't talk about the trip with my friends because a lot of them have been hit hard by the economy and I feel guilty. So, I am trying to contain my excitment when I am out of the house !!

I got my luggage tags yesterday.:cool1:

We are flying in on the Friday and we are going to stay at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral. We were originally getting into MCO at noon, but with the flight changes we do not get in until 7:30 so I do not imagine we will do much, but at least now we do not need to get up at 4:00 AM for a flight.

I only have new spring jackets for the girls left to buy. The girls are most anxious to start packing but we will do that the weekend before. I find it to stressful to pack the night before like I always used to do.

Got the luggage tags yesterday too.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We will be coming to Orlando on Wed and staying at AKV for couple days. Just love that resort.

Booked with Bernard's Tour, not sure what to do at St. Thomas yet.

3 weeks and counting.

We received our luggage tags this week. . .
I won't start packing until the week of the trip. . .probably the night before we leave. . .seeing luggage out upsets our little dog!

We will drive down on Friday and will be staying at the Radisson at the Port (great shuttle service)

Excursions. . .going to St Johns while in port at St Thomas. . . just shopping at St Maartin. . .parasailing at Castaway Cay.

Have a great weekend.

Maybe we will see you at the hotel. I booked the shuttle for 11:30. We are hoping to meet up with some friends that we sailed with last spring break, but who will be getting off the Magic on March 14, before we head to the ship. Also the girls are not big into waiting so figure it will be an easier wait at the Radisson pool than the cruise terminal.

Lisa

We're on the 9:30 shuttle to the port. . .we enjoy watching everyone and their excitement. . .we also like getting a low number for boarding.

We arrived at the port at 11:30 the last time and had boarding number 2 :cool1: . Not sure how we managed that. I hate the wait on board for our room, so I think we will arrive a bit later this time.

We are renting a vehicle, so that will allow us to do our own thing.

I got the suitcases out tonight! My dd's are ready!~~ But now the cat is mad!

It is so cold here. I am ready to get away to warm weather~~~

I love watching all the people arriving at the port. I really wish I had a balcony room~ Oh well, I will be fine in my dungeon on deck 1.....I really hope it is a good location.

I shouldn't complain, I saved a lot of money by booking a GTY Cat 12~

I watched the Magic leave Key West today!!

Does anyone have any 15 yr. old dd's going on the trip. My 12 yr old has meet Candizfan's dd & is having a great time getting to know her. Now my 15 yr old is jealous!!

Has anyone riden the sky tram in St. Thomas? I just ordered tickets through DCL excursions. They are cheaper buying them from the ship is what I have heard. Now, in St. Thomas we are going to Magen's Bay till we get hungry....head back to the ship to eat lunch, get cleaned up and then head back out to ride the sky tram.

I put one thing in my suitcase!! I am ready to go!

Deck on is not bad. . .we enjoyed the quietness of that room (we had the same room in 2006). . .past your room is the activities crew rooms. . .we only saw them once. . .
after the Pirate night party.

Hi all, well, it is almost here isn't it! Hubby Dave added two nights at the Poly after our trip so we now leave March 12 for 2 nights before, the 7 day cruise, and then 2 nights after. Can you tell we are sick of the cold frosty midwest weather?

Our daughter Stephanie is 16. She has been cruising on the Magic every year since she was 7 so she knows the ship well. She will be in the Stack. Just PM me if you want your daughters to contact her and I will pass on the info.

We have no excursions booked. We plan on enjoying the beach at St. Martin and at St. Thomas we usually go up to Paradise Pt. to enjoy a few drinks and the view. At both stops we (or shall I say I) will shop. I know one cruise I got off the Magic in St. Martin and went to Frontstreet all by myself. It was actually a lot of fun. Looking at all the sparkles is just too much fun.

We do have late dining this trip, a first for us. My husband is tired of having to be in the dining room at 6:00 am on debarkation day. By adding the extra days I also can skip the makeup Sat. morning and apply after we arrive at the poly! Just a few more minutes of much needed sleep.

I am still depressed about losing our 2010 trip in March. We had our favorite stateroom booked (haven't cancelled yet but will have to see if Disney will let us move it) Midship Cat. 3!!! Our daughters wonderful high school marching band 3 yr. trip is that year and it was announced that they are going to Disney World to march down mainstreet--of course the dates conflict with the cruise. Our TA has talked to DCL and since it is this school Disney trip causing the problem she is pretty sure DCL will let us move the cruise to March 2011. I hope so, I hate losing that deposit. Once we know the actual dates we may or may not have to change the trip. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the Magic was staying in the Caribbean, we would just push the cruise to after her June graduation but I believe the Magic will be in Europe then and a back to back Wonder just doesn't won't work. We love the eastern route not the Bahamma route or 3/4 day cruises. I guess I just need to really enjoy this one coming up, it will be a long time before I get back on the Magic. It could be our last Magic cruise if the new ships stay in the Caribbean and the Magic/Wonder leave the Caribbean. Now that is not fact, just a guess on my part. I really prefer the size of the Magic, not too big but not too small.

See you all really soon. Kathy

So i think it has been about three months since i was on here...but i am back now and ready to go. Just to remind everyone...I have three kids...DS12, DS9, and DD5. This is our 2nd cruise...and we are from Nashville.

We are currently booked in 5634 and 5632...anyone know about those rooms?

We are also doing Capt Nautica's Snorkeling Adventure in St John's...but have nothing set for St Marteen.

We will do Palo on Sunday for dinner, then brunch on Thursday, and my wife and her friend are doing tea as well. Does anyone know if we can book Palo on the ship for some more days?

We are flying in on Friday, and staying at the Hyatt at the airport. Can anyone tell me how to make a reservation on a shuttle the next morning? I know i am asking a lot....but i have not had the time to do as much research for this cruise with all my family has had going on the last few months....so, thanks for whatever help you guys can provide.

I think that is all i know...except I am in the middle of moving this week, so the thought of the cruise makes unpacking boxes seem so much easier.

Yea, more people joining the thread!!

Sorry JoRy....can't answer any of your questions....but I have heard deck five is a great place for a room......I will be down on deck 1, and happy to be on the cruise!

We only have 18 days left before we leave....9 more days of work for me~
I guess I need to start pulling out the cruise clothes and see if I can still get in them :)

If you are looking for DCL transfers fromt he Hyatt to the port, just call DCL and have them added to your reservation.

Hi Everyone

I have DD13 talking to hopelea's DD12 online and would like to find someone for DD10 to connect with before we sail as she is feeling out of sorts since her sister has someone to chat with.

Anyone have a DD10 they would like to have email contact with another 10 year old before we sail?
