Hi all, well, it is almost here isn't it! Hubby Dave added two nights at the Poly after our trip so we now leave March 12 for 2 nights before, the 7 day cruise, and then 2 nights after. Can you tell we are sick of the cold frosty midwest weather?
Our daughter Stephanie is 16. She has been cruising on the Magic every year since she was 7 so she knows the ship well. She will be in the Stack. Just PM me if you want your daughters to contact her and I will pass on the info.
We have no excursions booked. We plan on enjoying the beach at St. Martin and at St. Thomas we usually go up to Paradise Pt. to enjoy a few drinks and the view. At both stops we (or shall I say I) will shop. I know one cruise I got off the Magic in St. Martin and went to Frontstreet all by myself. It was actually a lot of fun. Looking at all the sparkles is just too much fun.
We do have late dining this trip, a first for us. My husband is tired of having to be in the dining room at 6:00 am on debarkation day. By adding the extra days I also can skip the makeup Sat. morning and apply after we arrive at the poly! Just a few more minutes of much needed sleep.
I am still depressed about losing our 2010 trip in March. We had our favorite stateroom booked (haven't cancelled yet but will have to see if Disney will let us move it) Midship Cat. 3!!! Our daughters wonderful high school marching band 3 yr. trip is that year and it was announced that they are going to Disney World to march down mainstreet--of course the dates conflict with the cruise. Our TA has talked to
DCL and since it is this school Disney trip causing the problem she is pretty sure DCL will let us move the cruise to March 2011. I hope so, I hate losing that deposit. Once we know the actual dates we may or may not have to change the trip. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the Magic was staying in the Caribbean, we would just push the cruise to after her June graduation but I believe the Magic will be in Europe then and a back to back Wonder just doesn't won't work. We love the eastern route not the Bahamma route or 3/4 day cruises. I guess I just need to really enjoy this one coming up, it will be a long time before I get back on the Magic. It could be our last Magic cruise if the new ships stay in the Caribbean and the Magic/Wonder leave the Caribbean. Now that is not fact, just a guess on my part. I really prefer the size of the Magic, not too big but not too small.
See you all really soon. Kathy
