Does my mascara and solid lip gloss go in my quart bag?

I believe that 'solid lip gloss' in an oxymoron. Is it liquid or a gel, or like a chapstick?

Liquids and gels (such as liquid or gel mascara, or liquid or gel lip gloss) need to go in the bag.

Solids do not

The lipgloss is like chapstick, only softer and not as waxy. Guess it does not have to go in the bag.

So, mascara-yes, my 'solid lip gloss'-no. Thanks for your answer. I know the same questions get asked all the time but the rules can sometimes be confusing for us nonfrequent flyers. We don't want to have anything confiscated

As a makeup addict, I need to know what kind of "solid" lip gloss you are talking about. Sounds like something Lorac makes.

All liquids and gels must be 100ml/3.4 oz or less, and must be placed in a 1 litre/1 quart clear bag

(There are exceptions for medications and other items)

It's actually something Lip Smackers used to make. I haven't been able to find it anywhere for quite a while now . It had such a yemmy taste and lots of shine.

I just like to have my things where they are going to wind up eventually, not all stashed in a plastic bag. Call me lazy or organized...I don't know which.

I'd vote for putting it in your plastic bag, as well....because if by chance it IS something some TSA person thinks is more gel-like, it will certainly not end up where you want it because it will be in the trash at the airport.

Just my 2 cents...not familiar with the type of gloss you're talking about....does it brush on with an applicator? or do you use it right from the tube like regular lipstick?

I have to second the idea of just putting it in the quart bag. TSA is merciless when it comes to pitching things in the trash and no matter what, if TSA says it goes IT GOES!

It's more like chapstick/lipstick. I can't stand the idea of someone else throwing my things away, so maybe I'll just tuck it into the quart bag...there's plenty of room.

Yes, I know that. What I meant was I like to keep my mascara withmy makeup and my lipgloss in the spot where I always keep it.

Anyway, my trip is over and I didn't have any problems. Didn't know my question was such a big deal. I was just looking for a yes/no answer.

Is it depends on the airport, the TSA person there, their mood, the day of the week, the cycle of the moon, and whether the planets are aligned correctly.
