Day 5 25/2/03 Shopping/Typhoon Lagoon
Today was a taking it easy day. DS did not follow the script and woke everyone at 6am. We had a leisurely breakfast and set off for Lake Buena Vista Outlets at 9.20am. It was only a 10 min drive, so we arrived at 9.30 to discover they dont open until 10am. DS was quite happy as they had a little childrens play area where he could kill half an hour.
The Reebok store opened at 9.50 and we piled in on a mission for new trainers. We procured 5 pairs, taking advantage of various coupons and other offers. A quick browse round some of the other stores and we set off for Belz. We didnt like the layout of Belz on our last visit, so we deposited DM and 2Sis and then headed off to the Florida Mall, stopping at Big M for lunch en route at DS request. As we arrived at Florida Mall, DS had fallen asleep, so DW went in to find the cosmetics she wanted, while I stayed in the van with DS.
We went back to the Vistana, grabbed our swim stuff and set off for Typhoon Lagoon. 10 mins later and we were parked up and heading into TL. It was about 70F and cloudy so not ideal water park weather. We took the Lazy River round to Ketchakiddie Creek where DS was in his element playing in the water and sand. This is a great area for toddlers, although there were a few older kids running riot. We tried to coerce DS into the wave pool, but he wasnt having any of it, so it was back to KC. By 4pm it was getting a little chilly, so we took the lazy river back to the front, and headed over to Downtown Disney Marketplace. We spent a while browsing through the shops, and whilst we were tempted by lots of things, we resisted the temptation to buy anything other than drinks and Churros. We grabbed some take-out from somewhere and headed back to the Vistana.
DM and 2Sis had spent the day working their way down I-Drive using the I-Ride trolleys. $2 for a day pass is a great deal. They phoned me from Publix on Vineland Ave at about 7pm and I went to collect them, stocking up on a few supplies while we there. Back at the Vistana, DW, 2Sis and myself decide to head over to the Cascades Bar for a few drinks. We relaxed for a couple of hours accompanied by some of the worst Karaoke I have ever had the pleasure to witness. For those that want to know....No I didn't take part...as bad as it was, I'm sure I would have lowered the standard
It was good fun though and a nice way to round off the day.
