Day 2 (Dec 4th)
Weather today - 70F - warm and sunny.
You've all seen the Disney advert with the eager parents with Disney hats and bags raring to go trying not to wake the kids - well that's me and DW at 04.30 !!!!!!!!
Everyone up by 6.30 and ready to go by 8.15.
Forgot to mention that after we checked in last night we were directed to a "stall" in reception to collect special offers etc. This is just a front for a timeshare sales pitch. Anyway they offered us a 90 minute presentation this morning with a free breakfast and an offer of Disney Quest tickets for all four of us for $20.00.
Popped into MacDonalds next door for a quick coffee before setting off.
So off we go to the Westlake resort and Spa on Turkey Lake Rd. - only a five minute drive. Had our free breakfast and listened to the spiel and then had a tour round the resort and a condo. We were taken by the beauty of all of it and were very tempted for a re-sale unit for £7,000 over 5 years. Eventually said no and left clutching our DQ tickets.
Drove over to Walmart on John Young Parkway. Missed it twice but found it on our third attempt. Stocked up on some bits and pieces - Oreos, cookies, drink and some toiletries (we decided not to pack any but to buy it all here)
Back to the hotel by 3.00 and the kids dive into the pool for a couple of hours whilst me and DW lay around on the sunbeds.
The vote for food tonight was for Race Rock so we decided to walk down I-Drive to work up an appetite. We all enjoyed the restaurant epsecially me and DS as we both love race cars. Jack was annoyed as the burger beat him (That's a first!!) Strolled back to the hotel a lot slower than earlier. Tried a hot chocolate from the hotel shop - but it didn't compare with a Starbucks!
Bed and sleep by 9.30
