We are planning our 2nd trip to Disneyland this coming June.... June 7th to be exact. We were originally planning on going to San Antonio this year... but the Military salute discount was so good that DL would be cheaper to go to... so DL it is!:woohoo:

The discount is that through June 12 you can get 30% off a DLR room... and the military member will get a FREE 3 day hopper... and we can purchase up to five 3 day hoppers for the price of an adult 1 day hopper :) The offer is valid for both retired and military card holders.

We have decided to stay at the GC - a standard room. Last time we stayed at the DLH. I can't wait!!!! :cool1:

great that you can take advantage of this....too bad they will not extend this for I am in the military and was deployed and will still be deployed during this whole promotion...but I am glad people are getting able to take advantage of this!:cool1: :cool1:

Did you book directly through Disney, or use a travel agent? We are interested in going, but unsure how to proceed. Thanks!

Hey we are doing the same thing! That was how I sold it to my DH. We are going June 1-8. we figured it would be cheaper than to go to Florida this time, since we are in Colorado. We are staying at the paradise Pier. I would LOVE to stay at the GC but it was sooo expensive. Did you get a great rate? We are paying about $1600 for 7 nights with concierge.

Can someone tell me how much the military companion tickets are???

This is the email I received from Disney when I inquired on the military discout:

Through June 12, 2009, each active or retired member of the U.S.
military can receive one complimentary three-day ?Disney?s Armed Forces
Salute? Park Hopper ticket valid for admission to both Disneyland and
Disney?s California Adventure parks. During the offer period, active or
retired U.S. military personnel also may make a one-time purchase of an
adult or child three-day ?Disney?s Armed Forces Salute Companion? Park
Hopper ticket for up to five family members (including spouse) or
friends for the price of an adult 1-Day Park Hopper ticket.

Disneyland Resort hotels are also offering special room rates for active
or retired military personnel. For example, at Disney?s Paradise Pier
Hotel, active or retired members of the military and their families may
find hotel rooms starting at $119 per night during value season, with
great savings during other times of the offer period. This offer is
available through June 12, 2009, and the number of rooms available at
these special rates is limited.

For information regarding ?Disney?s Armed Forces Salute? at the
Disneyland Resort, or to make reservations, military personnel may call
714/956-6424.

I made my res at the number listed and for the GC the rate was 209 per night... we are only staying for 4 nights so I thought we would splurge since the rooms were 30% off. I asked for the price of the one day hopper and Disney said $99... but that I would have to buy them at the MWR on base... you can't beat the price!!

Sorry I was looking for a #....now I see the 1day park hopper price.

It does not seem like a good deal to me if you live in SoCal, you might as well buy a pass! The only advantage is to buy it on blackout dates, then use it to upgrade to an annual pass.

We live 45 minutes away from DL and are chosing to go to WDW for $99 for 5 days and 4 parks! RT air from SD is only $240 pp including tax!!!

Yeah, if you live in Southern California, the resident tickets are better for a companion to use.

I would LOVE to take advantage of the trip to WDW but don't think we can afford the tickets from WA to FL for 6 people....

Why don't you go to DLR? The military tickets are good at either park, you just have to specify with your MWR representative.
