I had my first TKR in July and had the other knee replaced yesterday. @leebee I didn’t want to completely derail the other thread as it was about birthdays!
I was doing well with my left TKR from July and knew I wanted to get my right knee done as soon as I could. Surgery went well yesterday and was released home. I had staples the last time, this time being glue. Along with the glue, I have a different dressing than I did before. This one is Aquacel, stays on 7 days and can shower toda…yay! I am taking Tylenol round the clock, was given oxycodone but doc said to only use if Tylenol is not working well enough. I was also given meloxicam, which is different than last time. For a blood thinner, I take an 81mg aspirin 2 times per day. I questioned the addition of meloxicam as it is another NSAID. I was told that it is found to be the only NSAID to be able to take with an aspirin. The meloxicam can be helpful for inflammation & pain. I am up and walking every hour or so today. I was able to get some decent sleep last night. All in all things are going well for day 1
