When I was on my first cruise I noticed lots of guest getting gifts at the check in counter. I believe they were getting lanyards. We are going on our 2nd cruise and I was wondering if I would be receiving a lanyard because if not I will get one before hand. Since it was our first cruise, and not experience, having a lanyard would have made it a lot easier with our key to the world card :)

And is there anything else special you get maybe in your stateroom for 2nd cruisers?

Thank you

Yes! you will receive lanyards and a gift in your room. Right now its a sling bag in blue.

Welcome to the Castaway Club! After your first cruise you become a Silver Castaway Club member. You have to make sure your Castaway Club number is marked as part of reservation to get the benefits. You are also able to check in to your cruise and start booking things 90 days before sailing, rather than 75 days. You do only get one gift per stateroom though.

Here is the FAQ on DCL's site regarding the Castaway Club: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/castaway-club/

Everyone who sailed DCL will get a lanyard, but only 1 CC gift in the room.

Always subject to change.

And always inconsistently administered. We were not given our lanyards when we checked in to our last cruise, didn't think about it, and had to go back and ask for them.

Also, the gift quality/amount depends on the highest CC ranked person staying in the stateroom. For example, if the wife is gold and rest of family silver, then you get the gold level treatment. Personally, I would give a lanyard to everyone, even first-time cruisers...good PR and advertising.

You may have to ask for your lanyard at check in. I think maybe they don’t automatically hand them out because repeat cruisers already have so many they don’t necessarily want another one.
