My DH and I our taking our 5 kids (DD9, DS7, DS7, DS4, DS2) and my parents to WDW 10/31-11/6. We haven't been in 4 years.

We already have tickets for MNSSHP. I have booked a Wishes cruise for Monday night, I have tried to get an Illuminations cruise but can't. I am not a Commando type person and am a little worried that our 1st night will be the party and our second night will be the cruise. I really don't like having to stress over getting everyone somewhere on time when I am on vacation! But, it is the only night I can get a cruise and figured it would be fine, the rest of the week we will just take it easy.

Now I just read that the SpectroMagic Parade is only running Monday at 8pm and Thursday at 6pm. I'm thinking of cancelling my cruise, so we can see Sprecto in the dark. Is this stupid? I'm also thinking that the $120 we are spending on the cruise, could be better spent on another character meal.

We are hoping to get back to the "World" Dec 05. Opinions Please!

Since you asked for opinions - :teeth:

Mine is to go ahead and cancel the Wishes cruise. I've done it, but if I had to choose between Spectro and the cruise, I'd pick Spectro. Also, you will be seeing Wishes at MNSSHP so it's really not going to be as special as you think seeing it from the boat.

I'm sure you can find lots of other things to do with the $120 plus tip you will not be spending on the cruise. Save the cruise for another time. The $120 + is probably enough to do a character meal - wouldn't you all enjoy that?

Best wishes -

P.S. We'e been fortunate enough to do both cruises and IMHO, IllumiNations is the better of the two, even though I'd sure try to do both if possible and affordable.

Just to clarify one thing Wishes isn't the same fireworks show seen at MNSSHP. So try to plan to see both. The fireworks at MNSSHP are a bit more spectacular.
I'm getting the impression that you don't really want to do the cruise. Therefore, I wouldn't probably spend the money on it.

Won't it be dark at 6pm in November? (it is up here in NY - I always get so depressed when the clock changes!)

I think it would be dark by then in November. We did the wishes cruise in June on our Honeymoon. Its amazing! You see a lot more of the show that you don't get to see when you are in the park. I would definitely take the cruise. There are so many other elements to the cruise then just the fireworks, its well worth the money, especially for a Disney buff.

Ask to have Bradley as your boat captian. He was fabulous, fun and very imformative.

Enjoy your trip no matter what you decide to do :)
