I believe I am definitely obsessing about my reservations!!!!

Situation:
Thanksgiving morning we have breakfast at 'Ohana scheduled at 7:30 am and supper at Boma at 7:30 pm.

We are planning on spending the day at Animal Kingdom.

Would it be crazy to cancel 'Ohana and reserve breakfast @ Boma and eat there twice in one day?????

Before it is mentioned, I have tried over and over to get a Tusker House ressie but none available....

7:30 ADRS anyway are a disaster in our family. It always seems like a good idea... until we have to get up, get dressed, and get there. It always makes the day that much longer. Chances are with a 7:30 adr you will still miss rd so I'm not sure the benefit there. I'd eat breakfast wherever I was and not travel for it.

Where are you staying?

If I was staying where Boma was I might eat there both times...it'd be handy to do so. Otherwise, I'd try to get a early Yak & Yeti lunch & snack at breakfast instead & eat Boma at supper.

I gather you are a larger group..but there is a 9:30 a.m. Tusker House Safari breakfast for 2 on that day. I love love love their breakfast!

Yeah I'd go with a midmorning breakfast at Tusker House 10:00ish or Yak and Yeti early at like 11.

The early mornings always seem like a good idea .... but what are you doing the night before and who are you traveling with. If you have a 7:30 you are going to have to be up by 6 and leave hotel by 6:30 or 7. And then dinner won't end until close to 9 and not home until 10ish if you are using Disney transpo... LONG DAY! Cranky kids!

You might drive yourself crazy getting to Poly then to AK. The Breakfast at Boma is pretty standard fare with a few interesting dishes thrown in. It will be a totally different experience than dinner there. You could always book Boma and keep trying for Tusker House. I personally agree with the pp. I would get an early ressie at Yak & Yeti and get breakfast at your hotel.
Have a great trip - I think dinner at Boma would be a great Thanksgiving!

A 7:30 ADR at the park you're going to be at is one thing, but at a resort all the way on the other side of the park is something completely different.

You will basically be traversing to all three corners of Disney World in order to do all three things. DTD area to Magic Kingdom Area to Animal Kingdom area. It is pretty much the furthest you can travel between places. Additionally, if you take Disney transportation, you'll have to be dealing with excessive transfers throughout your entire day. POR to MK to Poly to AK to AKL to other park/DTD then back to POR

A breakfast reservation at Boma would be easier, but it still wouldn't be the most convenient option.
I would likely scrap breakfast that day (we usually only have room for one TS a day anyways) at least for now, and keep watching for a Tusker House ADR.

Where else are you planning to eat on your trip?

we have an early ADR at 'Ohana on Thxgiving morning too... *and* we're staying at POR! but we'll have a rental car and will drive to the Poly and then heading south to have Thxgiving dinner w/family!

i agree w/the above posters who said it sounds like a very busy morning of traveling... i would def consider another option, including food court or maybe RFC at AK for b'fast (they have tonga toast!)

We have plans to eat at the following:
Le Chefs (DD choice)
Crystal Palace (supper another DD choice)
50's (DH choice)
'Ohana (supper my choice :))
Boma
Tony's Town Square or LTT--they all want Tony's I want LTT
I also have a ressie for Chef Mickey's I haven't dropped yet and the 'Ohana ressie for breakfast. Chef Mickey's is the day we leave. Truth be told I also have a Citricos but am probably gonna drop that one.

I don't have young children....all teenagers.

If you have a rental car and teenagers I don't see why you should cancel O'hana for breakfast. The two problems with the plan were getting there so early and young kids getting tired, not an issue in your case. Why not keep the reservation and if the day before you change your mind, cancel O'hana, grab breakfast at the food court and use your TS another time (even make an extra reservation that you can use or cancel in case).

LOL! I see the word teenager and I think disaster.... I can't imagine dragging them out of bed to eat. I can imagine the looks I'd be getting! :rotfl: Guess it depends on the type of kid. I'm pretty sure that in our family we'd get the "Tell Mickey I said hi... I'll meet you at the park later! " Little kids aren't the only ones that get cranky. Sometimes a 2 year olds temper tantrum is better than a high schoolers!

When we go to the AK, we always have breakfast at the rainforest cafe. It was not on the dining plan, but we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn and they really have a great breakfast menu. We do that every year and area always pleased.

We did a super early breakfast at Ohana and it was great but we were staying at the Poly so it wasnt a headache getting there

Boma dinner is what I would cancel, we do not like the food there

i have two teens and a toddler and taking my il's... my plan is to do some early ADRs for the early risers, some later b'fast ones (like 10:30am) for the snoozers, and the teens are familiar enough w/WDW that they can opt in or out as they like and meet us wherever we are... besides most of our character meals are for the li'l guy... and grandparents!

while b'fast at 'Ohana is nice and the characters are somewhat unique (although i've never had a problem finding Lilo/Stitch at AK) the food is nothing special (esp if you are getting the pineapple bread at dinner 1x) and totally not worth schlepping for... i would go the CS route if i were you...

You're in good company! Just look at all the threads and posts around here! :rotfl:

Just think through all the logistics, and you know your family best... eventually it will all click - even if at the last minute!

Have fun with your continued obsessing! :goodvibes
