2nd drop of SDD LL?

Yesterday and today, October 31 and November 1, I checked to see SDD LL return times at 7:00 am. I was able to see 9:00, then after refresh it was 10:55, then after next refresh, it as 12:15, and it kept getting later and later until reaching 7:30 pm.

THEN, at 7:08, suddenly a 9:30 popped up, and then from there the time moved steadily forward just like it had at 7:00 am.

Makes me think that a fresh drop of SDD LLs is occurring at about 7:08 (same thing both days).

So the moral of the story may be: if you don't get an earlier enough return time in the first 5 minutes of refreshing, don't give up on it that soon. (Of course, if you cancel your time, then by the time you go for the earlier time, it may not be so early as what you saw for it, but this could be something to keep in mind).

I think that might just be people who booked one quickly cancelling trying to get something different, making one slot available, not a second drop.

I would consider a cancellation trying to get an earlier time only if I was confident that I could get something no worse than what I had.

If I wanted something in the first hour, but got noon, I would be concerned that cancelling to try to get something earlier would leave me with something closer to 6 PM.

My plan for SDD is to try for and take the earliest I can get and work around it. Only if my first attempt got me something late in the afternoon or early evening would I gamble on getting something earlier.

ETA: I looked at this this morning and the 7:08 phenomenon did occur. By 7:05 SDD showed as sold out. At about 7:08 an early time appeared and the times rose quickly before settling in around 5:30 PM.

This doesn’t change what my approach would be, but does offer a possible alternative if we don’t get a time we like right at 7.

That would seem most likely.
If it had occurred early afternoon, it would be more likely that there may have been a second drop like they used to do with FP+.
