Is this correct? You dont have to use the 2nd day on the following day, but just within a 7-day time period?

This is correct. I called SW just to make sure. Just make sure that you go to guest services and upgrade your ticket while you're at SW for the first day .

I just bought the 2013 AP on the SW website for our upcoming trip this October. It ends up being $10 more than a regular one day ticket.
