I'm sorry if this is a well-worn subject, but I couldn't find answers with the search. We own at OKW and are considering buying a BWV resale. Our use year is June for OKW and would be different for BWV. ALso the points we would be buying for BWV would only provide 5 days - so we would need to borrow everytime we made a BWV reservation or wait until the 7 month window and hope that we can add on to it with our OKW points. Can anyone give me some insight as to how problematic it is to have 2 contracts at different resorts with different use years? We added on to our family last year and really need to have enough points for a 2 BDR each time. Hope all the experts can help me out! Thanks a lot!:wave2:

Having two use years isn't that difficult especially for different resorts. And there are more options than just borrowing for the new resort. You could always wait until the 7 month window and attempt to add to a pending reservation with your other points.

Jasmine - I'm really glad you asked this because I've been thinking about it and really can't remember how it works (though I'm sure I've read it again and again). We haven't added on (yet) so I haven't really scoured the Member Guidelines, but I'm hoping someone will give you a good answer with examples so I can print it out and keep it with my Member information. Good luck with your resale!

Hi,
We originally bought points at OKW and after 1 or 2 visits we realized that we needed enough points for a 2 BR (as family always joins us). We then bought 100 pts a BCV, hoping to combine these PTS for a 2BR. The price was right, and the use year was different then my OKW use year.

We just sold BCV and bought another contract at SSR - same use year and same number of points as OKW contract.

Since we go down once a year and need a 2BR, I found trying to combine points, borrow points and operate with 2 different use years frustrating. I also like to book 12 months out and not have to deal with switching reservations. W/ my busy life I'm much happier this way, have all the points I want w/ out waste, and 2 equal contracts, one for each one of my DKs to inherit.

Just my thoughts.

We have 4 contracts but are all the same use year. I do agree with JimC, however, that if you keep it tracked either in spreadsheet form or on paper you won't have any problem. When we have questions, it's always easy to call and get it straight. We actually had a nice surprise a couple of months ago when we found 64 points that we had banked from last year on one of the contracts. They had to be used by December 1st so of course we had to force ourselves to take an additional trip in 2 weeks.

Thanks for all the replies and would love to hear from more who have done this. JimC thanks for the links - I've seen these before and always seemed a bit complicated, but agree that we would need to keep track closely. I am a bit concerned, as MOMO2DK said, that I would be frustrated trying to keep everything straight. Our lives always seem a bit scattered and would hate to lose points due to our ineptness at keeping dates, banking deadlines, etc., straight! Any other thoughts out there? THanks again! ;)

Forgot to add that we called today to discuss making an offer on the BWV points but the office was closed - rightly so - due to Frances. Hope everyone down there is battened down and doing alright!!::yes::

Give them a try. It does not take long to master them. Many of us use them so there are plenty of folks who can help answer questions. The authors are very responsive and helpful as well. Good luck.
