2nd Birthday Party Invite... You Forgot Bubblewrap and Purell...

I have TEARS in my eyes from laughing so hard at this!!

Seriously tho, DS10 was invited to a party when he was in 3rd grade and the mom put no gifts on the invite; but requested for everyone to bring a ball (football, basketball, soccer, etc) that they would donate to a local children's charity. We got a soccer ball at Target for about $15. I though it was a terrific idea.

That's hysterical! We still say the "you are causing confusion and delay" when things are not going well. :lmao: Then again, whenever we go near the train tracks, if a passanger train is going by it's Gordon and if it's a freight train on the tracks it's James. I'm pretty sure my kids will be 30 and we will still be saying "there goes Gordon"!!! :rotfl2: It has just stuck.

I can't believe that I forgot to post that one! DH and I are always telling each other "you have caused confusion and delay!" It is one of our catch phrases (along with a bunch of stuff from Harry Potter and Seinfeld). Today I found a golf ball in the trunk of the car, held it up to my husband and said "The sea was angry that day my friend".

My son literally learned to speak from watching Thomas. He would repeat the names of the trains as they showed them at the end. He always called Clarabelle "Clababelle". He would watch the videos, and then act them out with the trains. He got Gordon the first time he pooped in the potty...The Flying Scotsman was on his 5th birthday cake. OH, the memories!

LOVE this idea! We have a family at the preschool I teach at that does something similar. They put "no gifts" on the invite, and then donate a book to the school library in their child's name. They do this for their older children too (elementary-aged)...they donate a book to the elementary school library. Perfect!!

My son watched Thomas all the time as well. I like to watch too especially when Alec Baldwin was the narrator. :lovestruc :lovestruc
