We used 2fers last year I think? And they didn't card us. When your friend buys them, have them keep both the receipts the cashier will give them and have your friend give them to you. One receipt will be that they were purchased and the other that they were activated. So if there is any trouble at the turnstiles, you'll have proof that they were bought and activated..

HTH!

:)

Thanks for the reply. It is through her work though so I am thinking she will not get these reciept. It is looking like I better just pay the full price. I will be worried the entire time I am afraid.

Looks like prettyprincessbelle would have been fine if asked for id, so there's a leve of risk for you that wasn't there, possibly, for her. I wouldn't try itn not b/c of money (I think they would just charge the difference), but b/c of the possibility of extreme embarrassment if caught.

California residents are allowed to buy up to 8 tickets per California ID. They will not ask for your ID. You are in fact allowed to use these if a friend or family member buys them.

The only thing you CAN NOT use from out of the area is So CAl annual passes.

Go have fun with no worries!

You can use the so cal annual pass from out of the area. I bought them when I lived in NY and had a family memeber use their credit card and their address.
Never questioned me.

Wow! There is way to many different opinions on this. I am way to scared. I think the smart thing would be to just buy the full price. I am so sad though since that would have saved me so much!

I called DL this morning about buying the 2 fer for my sister who lives in Vegas. She said that these tickets are to say thank you for putting up with their dust and construction in SoCal. She said we can buy up to 8 tickets a day and give them to anyone even if they are out of state. She also said that they have a SoCal 2 day park hopper for $91 that I can get also. She said to make sure it said SoCal on it though or we would end up paying regular price. So have your friend buy them and go have fun.

The only time that they card you is when there is a name on the ticket.

IE: I bought a 4 day one park per day pass from Costco. I had to go and exchange it at the Ticket booth and my friends name was placed on it. We used it 3 times. They carded her for 1 of the visits Wanted to see picture ID with her name on it. Even though she was from NY they did not care. So I decided to try it and let a freind use it. Well it did not work. They wanted to see her photo ID. I felt so bad. So I bought her a So Cal AP.

So you are totally fine having someone get you the 2fer that lives in LA.

I've lurked on here forever but decided to register since I had similar concerns when I went 2 weeks ago - I live in Idaho and had a SoCal relative purchase the tickets. Nobody that I went with (11 other people with varied entrance times and turnstiles) was asked for ID at the gate. I would definitely go for the 2fers.

From the Disneyland site

• May purchase up to 8 tickets per person per day with valid ID. Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use. Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions. Offer not valid before 01/07/08. Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

Because one ID is required to purchase, no one else needs to provide one. We have done this many times and have never had an issue.

Gosh! Everytime I read the new ones I end up changing my mind. I am now thinking I should just go with it! I mean I would be saving a crazy amount. Not having the hopper though might be a pain but is totally worth the discount. Again, thanks for all these responses! You guys are making me change my mind way to much!!!

I am glad I found this information. I was trying to search for it because I bought 2 Day Park Hopper tickets for my sister and her boyfriend for when they are visiting in May that were for SoCal residents. I have an AP, so I didn't buy any tickets for myself. I am just not going to worry about it now. Thanks!

We purchased the 2fers through the military last year and purchased for MIL who is from OK as well, and when we went through the gates, they never once asked any of us for ID either day. I would say go for it!

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now, and I find it very informative. Thanks to you all who are taking the time to respond to inquiries.

I have a question as well related to the SoCAL Promo. My friend will buy me a ticket through Disneyland website and use the eTicket option. Can I use this eTicket that my friend will print from home and give me the print-out without any problem? I'm just wondering if the eTicket will mean a pick-up of actual ticket at the gate later, which will require Proof of Residency. Thanks.

I don't know about the eticket but when my sister got here on Wednesday we went to Vons and she purchased the tickets with her credit card and they didn't even ask for her ID. She bought the 2 day SoCal PH for $91. She used them to get in with no problem. I wasn't even with her when she went in and they didn't ask for ID anywhere.

For the Vons tickets do you have to trade them in at the gate for real tickets or are they your actual ticket?

They are your actual ticket. It looks like a gift card. That is what you use to get in, no trading.

If you have an e-ticket. they take it scan it and then take the paper and give you a park pass... no questions asked.

Thank you for this information, now I know I can use the Fastpass machines using the park pass. Do you know if the eTicket will also print the name of the person who bought it online? My friend was originally planning to join us but he have work in the afternoon so he suggested that he can purchase it online for us and just forward the email from Disneyland so I can print the ticket myself. Will this work?

Thanks in advance for your help.
