I called today and switched our last 2 nights to a 2br Value at Jambo? Are the value rooms hard to get, was I just lucky? Also, I know that the 2br's at Jambo only have 2 baths. What else is there to know about a value? I asked for a note to be put that we would like a Savanna View (so, we will see).

Is a 2br Value one of those like a BWV standard? A real great point saver!? Or is it not that great?

The main difference is size. A value 2BR is about 950 sq ft compared to about 1072 for others at Jambo. It also does not have the fold out sleeper chair in the living room but otherwise has the same type of bulky furniture that regular sizes do which thus makes the value seem even smaller than it is. The other diffeence is that there are a limited number and all are in the front part of the Jambo building (so you will have a short walk from the elevator to any of them. They officially hold 8 but 7 to 8 is an extremely tight fit for them.

It will be Me, DW, MIL, DS2, DS11months, so we should be good on room! I would really like a savanna view, but its just a request!

I thought the only way to get a savannah view was to book one and it costs more points?

The Value rooms are in Jambo House only and run along the Ostrich and Giraffe trails so you could get a view of the pool, the Sunset Savanna or the parking lot from a Value room.

In this drawing of Jambo House the Value rooms are marked in green, the Standard View rooms are marked in yellow, the Concierge rooms are in pink, the GVs are marked in orange, everything else is Savanna View.

Thanks LisaS!!! This is why I love the DIS - learn something new every day!

There are 4 2 bedroom lock offs that face the savanah, 4 that face the pool and 2 that face the parking lot.

I plan on taking one for the team and actually requesting parking lot view for our stay in August. In the big picture of things, we really dont care what the view is, and watching human animals come and go can be just as interesting as a Yak some days.

:thumbsup2

What is the red lines on the map?
Disney originally published this drawing to show the construction phases of the conversion of the AKL hotel rooms on the 5th and 6th floors into AKV villas. If I remember correctly, the white dotted area opened first (Jul 2007), followed by the blue dotted area (Sep 2007), the red dotted area (Dec 2007) and finally the white dashed area (Jan 2008). I added the green, yellow, pink and orange "spray paint" very hastily one day to show the location of the different booking categories.

Get your checkbook ready... You will likely have a strong urge to add on once you experience this resort..

MG

I just added on 125 at BLT this week, so DW will probably say no. I would be ok with another add on though!
My apologies... I misspoke.

I said "likely have a strong urge". I meant to say "you will definitely have an uncontrollable urge".

Once again, sorry for the confusion.
