I just got my confirmation i the mailfor our saty nexy June. I had to request a handicapped room since my father in law is in a wheel chair. When I got my confimation it say Dedicated two Bedroom on it.

My question is is there a difference between a lock-off and a dedicated? When we toured we saw the lock off. (Not that it matters either way! just curious)

I also request The springs so he is closer toe the food area, are there handicapped 2 bedrooms in all the areas? Are we likly to get our request?
Thanks

The dedicated will have only one door leading to the exterior hallway. The second bedroom will not have the microwave/sink/frig area but have a larger closet instead since its not a separate studio connected to a one bedroom. You won't have the second balcony either off the second bedroom. You will definitely have two queen beds as opposed to one queen with a sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. You will have a double sink area in the two bedroom as well. As far as getting a unit near the main area, request the Springs Section, its the closest to the main pool, Artist's Palette and the Turf Club. I would call MS again to verify that your handicapped request is noted. I am not sure if there are handicapped units in all the areas. And requests are hard to predict, if you check in early in the day and don't have too many requests above your main handicap issues than your chances increase. They will certainly try their best but can't guarantee anything. One thing about it, if you are requesting a handicapped room you will be on the first floor. I would also think requesting a handicapped room would be a priority to them and since most people don't want that type of room your chances should be pretty good. We have stayed at SSR twice, both times with elderly parents who had lots of issues and both stays were wonderful and they enjoyed it very much! Its a beautiful resort.

Thanks for pointing out the differences for me. My only requests are we have to have a handicapped room, they said one was already marked for us. My second request was for it in the springs. But I will take a room anywhere, heck I am after all in WDW! Thanks again
