What's the difference between a 2 bedroom lock-off and a dedicated 2 bedroom? This is for VWL - does the square feet differ (less than 1080 sq ft) or is it just the configuration? We have 5 kids under the age of 3 coming with us but want to make sure they are not "locked" off on their own room.

Thanks!

The only real difference is that the lock offs have a connecting door between the living / kitchen area and the second bedroom whcih can be locked from either side. The studio side has a door to the outside (or hallway), as does the 1 bedroom side.

Most parents with small children prefer the dedicated units - since those have only one door to the outside / hallway.

In a lock-off, they would be able to shut the door of the second bedroom, but you would be able to get in the entrance door, provided you didn't dead-bolt it.

I would think in a lock-off, you could maybe put a shoe or something in the door jamb to keep it from shutting entirely, but it is a possibility.

When we had connecting rooms in Las Veags, my autistic son was locked in the second bedroom and the door to the corridor was deadbolted. It was a long minute until we convinced him to open the door again.

Appreciate the feedback! I guess we don't have a choice though since MS says that's their only availability for the dates we want. We'll just have to manage the 5 toddlers and make sure they don't close the doors!

The other differences are that the studio portion of the lock-off will also have the mini-refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave and toaster.

It will also have its own temperature control, which may be helpful if some of your party prefers warmer/cooler indoor temps.
