PLEASE GO TO MY OTHER THREAD, THE REVIEW WITH PICS.
This is my first review, and I do apologize for the lack of pictures. I forgot how to obtain the pic links needed in order to post. Lol.
My DS12 and I stayed for 8 nights (Aug.24 to Sept.1), first two nights were at ASMovies, and the rest of the trip was at CSR. We both love Disney dining and always use the dining plan. Great value for us. I've paid OOP for a couple days on previous trips and wow we spend a fortune! Love the DP. Anyway, on with the review....
Cali Grill - we ate here on our first night. Loved this place so much last year we had to come back for more. We both had the filet without the sauce. OMG once again they did not disappoint. Best steak ever. So tender and full of flavour. It really is the best steak we've ever had. For dessert we both had banana's & caramel as per the servers suggestion. It was fantastic. Loved the crispy and creamy combination.
Sci Fi (walk up) - I had the spinach artichoke dip with a kids cheeseburger. Lol. Spinach dip was amazing. The burger smelled funny thou, not impressed. We've been here several times before, burgers are usually good. Not sure if the kids burgers are different than the adults burger? But i didnt care for it. Hardly ate any. My son had chicken wings and onion rings and loved both. Esp the wings. I tried one and it was quite good. I personally didnt care for the onion rings thou. I found them too greasy. For dessert we had peanutbutter chocolate cake and thought it was pretty darn tasty! We'd definitely come back. Love the atmosphere. Most of the time we've been here its always been a walk up. we've been pretty lucky.
Via Napoli - I had the quattro fromaggi pizza and my son had the pepperoni. Both were absolutely incredible!!! OMG this is a must do from now on. I cannot believe how yummy their pizza is! For dessert we had the ricotta fritters, WOW. Absolutely amazing. To drink we had the blood orange, very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. Love this place.
Tutto Italia - Ok so both places in italy are now my fave restaurants. I had the lassagna and it was seriously the best lassagna i ever had in my life. It had the perfect meat to ricotta to sauce ratio. so yummy. My son had the fetuccini alfredo with pancetti (sp?) and inhaled it. I tried some and it was mouth watering. For dessert i had the tiramisu....incredible! we'll definitely be coming back for more on our next trip! I highly recommend this place. As for as atmosphere goes, i prefer the decore at Via over Tutto. I found it prettier.
Crystal Palace breakfast - Love CP. But we normally come for the food, not just the characters. We always loved the characters here thou, very cute. As for the food, it was great! Love the made to order eggs, the fruit, the bacon, sausages, etc. Finally got to try poohs puffed french toast. It was good!! Not outstanding, cause i dont normally care for donuts, and essentially thats kinda what it is. But it was really good! I have to say, the real winner for me was the breakfast lasagna. HOLY COW! Why didnt anyone tell me about this dish? its outstanding! it might not look like much, but you seriously gotta try it. Its amazing! It deserves far more hype than pooh's french toast i think.
Early AM ADR's: For so long i've been hearing about how amazing it is to get an early AM ADR (8am-ish) so that you can walk down an empty main street. So I made an ADR for 8:10am and was very excited...until i saw how many people were on main street. It was considerably full, considering it was about 750am!!! WTH?!? I've seen main street much emptier during PM EMH's (around midnight). My thoughts for those who want to make an 8am ADR because of this, dont stress yourself. It really isnt a big deal. Main street wasnt that empty for me.
Ohana dinner - Service was great. The food was alright. Not the best ive ever had. My son and I are chicken wing freaks, and we werent blown away by their wings. I liked them more than my son did. My DS12 just thought they were meh. Noodles were good. The steak and chicken were pretty good, but i didnt care for the pork because of the sauce. Way too sweet. Cant say much about the shrimp cause i dont eat that stuff. Dessert was the real winner here thou. OMG incredible! Overall it was a good expeience, but i dont think i'll bother to go back.
Tusker House lunch - we've been to tusker before, but for breakfast. Not lunch. Thought i'd give lunch a try since its new to us. I thought it was decent. But i didnt care for the selection. The items i had on my plate was pretty good, but i still think their breakfast is far better. some examples of offerings were: curried chicken, rotisserie chicken, spit fire chicken, corn dog nuggets, mashed potatoes & wedges, mac n' cheese, salads, two kinds of rice, couscous, deli and cheese slices, samosa. fruit, dessert etc. cant remember what else, sorry. Glad i tried it, characters were cute. But i'll stick to breakfast from now on. Oh, the banana bread pudding was pretty awesome and the highlight for me.
Chefs de France - OMG i love this place! So incredibly yummy. we both started out with appetizers. My son had the cheese board, WOW! Amazing! I had the warm goat chz salad. Soooooo very delish. A lot of food thou! Didnt finish thou because we had to save our appetite for the main course. For the main i had the beef short ribs with pasta. Mmmmmm, the meat was so lean and tender (kinda like a filet). It was absolutely incredible. Loved the sauce. I highly recommend this dish. My son had the half chicken with potatoes and liked it. Esp the potatoes. For dessert i had profiteroles, pretty good. but i liked my son's creme brulee better. Loved seeing Remy. We'll definitely come back next year. I was really impressed with the food and decore.
Wolfgang Puck Express (marketplace) - I cant say enough good things about the food at this place. Just wow. Last year i had the spagetti & meatballs, it was phenominal. This time i had bacon wrapped meatloaf with onion straws and mashed potatoes, HOLY SMOKES, incredible. Out of this world. The creme brulee cheesecake was amazing as well. Oh how i wish I had a WGPE closer to my home! This was one of the highlights of our trip. I know i've said this already with tutto, chefs, and via, but seriously, this place rocks my socks.
Beaches & Cream - Four of us had dinner here one night, my son and I, and another disser with her DS. When i checked in they said it was close to an hour wait. But my buzzer rang after only 25 min, and the place was empty! Really strange. I was excited to eat here because i keep hearing about how they have the best burger in disney. Well sadly, none of us thought the burgers were the best in disney. The flavour was good, but the burger itself was pretty thin and floppy. A little disappointing. The highlight of the meal was the kitchen sink. WOW! Its huge! four of us barely ate half. It was fun thou. Our server was great.
