*HUGS* to you, C.Ann. I wish I had advice, but I don't. I certainly understand the sister situation. I have one who's prone to this behavior. It's not going to be fun, when it comes time to make these decisions about my parents. My heart certainly goes out to you.

Be thankful that you have family members that are close by and able to participate with the care of your mom, for better or worse.
You have no idea how gleeful I would be if a brother or sister of mine ever came from the West Coast and said, 'Hey you have been doing this solo for over 20 years now let me give you a hand. Why don't you go away for a few weeks without having to worry a bit.'
But, they don't and I have never ever have called them on it. I too have cared for sick, invalid, handicapped and dying family members and can share what a large responsibility it is, consuming a lot of your time and emotions.

When - and if - my sister calls here again - and chooses to act like an adult - I'll be more than happy to speak with her.. However, if she calls to scream at me and throw another temper tantrum, I will not attempt any conversation at all..
