I'm going to say Friday night. I was at opening night last year and it was crowded but we managed to see four of the houses. They are still working the "bugs" out on opening night like wait times and such but it's doable...IMHO. :teeth:

I've got two words for ya............"Express Pass" for HHN 16

i would have to agree that friday will have more crowds.

the media is there on opening night and that crowd is there before the start of hhn.

also, i think there is a discount on opening night which sometimes brings more people out.

don't know about opening night but just read that saturday 30th has less than 100 epp to sell.

maybe saturday will be more crowded than friday???

i posted friday would have the crowds but maybe both nights will be packed.
only a limited number of epps are sold but that is not a measure of the number for crowds.

a few years ago one of the workers at hhn mentioned that a limited number of epp are sold per each event. he stated that 7000 epps sold on a saturday was the max.

sometimes i wonder about all these numbers i am told.
i only know and remember how long i stand in line to determine the crowds when i am there.

maybe a coin toss would be the best way to decide which night would be best for the opening weekend if you had to chose only one night to go.

Not that this is much help and I am just guessing, but I would bet you both will be equally packed, probably won't be much difference.

I'm going Saturday night. I think both will be packed the same. Once the crowd arrives, the wait for each house will be 1 hour or more no matter what night it is. That's why I go to the Stay and Scream area, and get thru most of the houses before the crowd arrives. By the time I make it to the last one, the wait is an hour and I'm tired of being boo scared, so I leave.

Friday night is when most people go out on dates. They get home from work, don't want to cook dinner, and want to go out and eat. Visit your local restaurants on a Friday night and they're usually packed, whereas a Saturday can be done.

Wow, only 100 epps left? Interesting.

Either night will have roughly the same crowd, which should actually be minimal compared to later in the month.

They wont let me purchase AP discounted rates as my AP is not activated yet though it is paid for. Is that normal ? :confused3

Yikes! My AP is not activated either. I haven't called yet becasue I can't decide between 9/29 & 9/30 also. HHN sort came as a by-product for this trip. I planned the long weekend with my son and then discovered HHNs were happening. The AP gives such a deep discount that weekend, I hate to consider paying full price. I may just wait unitl we get there and if they have tickets left- gret. If not, we'll try to hit it next year.

Plan on both nights being packed--not only is that opening weekend, that is the only weekend covered by the Frequent Fear passes. I suspect Friday may be a bit worse than Saturday, but the difference will probably be negligible.

Honestly, last year I was there on a Sunday night with rain bands from a tropical storm hitting the park repeatedly, and there was still a 2-hour wait for The Body Collectors. If you hate crowds, arrive early and grab an express pass, but just know that HHN is always packed out.

i am in chicago and bought the pap in mid july.
i was able to use my non activated ap to purchase tickets over the phone.

presently, UO is outscourcing the ticket sale, hotel, etc thru a group in canada.
you can tell it is a canadian call as when you phone in, the ringing tone makes a different sound when it is transferred to the out source group.

two times this july i called and was able to buy the tixs with the non activated pass for the discount.

call until you reach the out source group. you can always ask, are you located in orlando or canada.......

for some reason the screen the canadian group had when i called allowed me to purchase on the ap discount.

i know this is frustrating as two of my friends did not have to pay the fed ex charge of $15 for the home delivery.
i got skunked with it twice in july...........

What is the AP discount for HHN tickets? Is it better than the FL resident/coke can deal ($27 off?) We had AP's in the past and may get some again.

Will September 29th (Friday) or October 29th (Sunday) be more crowded? Any ideas? Thanks!

I just called using Mcraven's advise and was able to purchase 2 tickets for 9/30 with the preferred annual pass discount even though it was not activated. Total cost for both tickets was $53.14. They are mailing me the tickets at no cost and sent me an e-mail confirmation. By the way, they mentioned they only have 25 express passes available for that night. The phone # I called was 1-888-331-3594, option 4.

now that is three people that have said they had the fed ex fee of $15 waived.

i received the email confirmation within 5 minutes of buying the tickets.

my notes are in my car right now.
if no one answers this question, i will look it up tomorrow.
remind me to post it.

i think the fl and the ap are the same discount.
i would have to check the UO website to be sure though. both are listed there.

Thanks. We decided to go on October 15th with the express pass. :woohoo:

I did not know there should be a fee. I just asked if they were going to mail them to me and I was told yes. I asked her when I should expect them. She told me if I did not have them by 9/14 (for 9/30 HHN) I should call them and I may have to pick them up at the gate. Now I'm wondering if I will have problems getting the tickets since I did not pay a fee. My tickets were $26.57 each which was about a $35 discount with the preferred AP. Maybe the AP waived the fee. Do you purchase your tickets with an AP discount?

disney happy, i was given a choice of free kiosk pick up or fed ex 2 day service of $15 charge.

i took the fed ex.

then i called back and did the epp which again i requested to be mailed out.
that was another $15 charge.

i bought mine in mid july.

maybe the policy changed since i ordered mine.
don't worry about any charges.
nothing can be charged to your cc without your agreement to it.

i would not give it a second thought.

you're home free !!
