My neighbor just got back from WDW. At CRT, a lady they were with was charged $28.00 for a bottle of water! I never heard if it was a mistake in billing. Has this happened to anyone else?

What kind of water was it?

If she ordered a high-end mineral water, $28 is not totally out of the question, given that this is WDW restaurant pricing.

I guess that price was correct. It was Evian. I'll be sure to be more specific if I order water! :thumbsup2

This is judgemental, I know, but it seems to me that anyone who PAYS $28 for water deserves to pay $28 for water.

P.T. Barnum was nobody's fool!

I've purchased a lot of bottled water in my time. In Vegas the "big" thing appears to be bottled table water. I've paid as much as $7.00 for a large sized bottle (the size that can fill several glasses). I've purchased Evian before (its not my favorite) but its never been $28.00. The menu on allears lists still and sparkling water at $3.25 per what I can only assume is a single serve size

I totally agree! As far as I know, she didn't even question it, just paid and complained after they left. I'm glad to have the heads up to ask about prices, but I don't agree with how has just used it as an excuse to bash Disney, which is what it's turned in to. I'm glad we have a fence! :rotfl2:

wow - $28 for water, huh?

what's next?

$20 for a whiff of oxygen??!!

(i can see it now: "Genuine Disney Air!!") :rotfl2:

Maybe the friend of OP was mistaken about what she overheard. As far as I know the drinks are included at CRT. I know we were there last week and the bill is all inclusive - we paid OOP and gratuity is even included. Maybe what was overheard was a piece of a conversation about something else.

I wanted to buy my 2 yr old a kids meal and that was $27. I did not buy it.

Come on, that sounds kinda, ya know, made up. Where would you ever see a kids meal for that much?

According to both the DIS and Allearsnet a child's lunch is $22.99. If the previous poster was trying to order her child a true child's lunch (not just the buttered noodles I've heard they serve complimentary) then I would imagine this is the cost she'd pay. CRT is a character meal and therefore the cost includes the entertainment of having the characters visit your table.

I certainly would not consider Evian a 'high end' water, and I guarantee Disney doesn't either. That was definitely an error in pricing.

perhaps the OP's neighbor overheard someone complaining that they spent $28 for a "bottle of water" 'cause they ordered the child's meal and the kid didn't eat a bite, but only drank a bottle of water?

Now that makes sense. We ate at CRT with two of our granddaughters and we all agreed the food was nasty. One granddaughter did learn to eat celery with ranch dressing there so I guess all was not lost.

This was my exact same thought too when I read it.
I think if they were charging 28.00 a bottle of water we would have heard of this before:scared1:
