You do know that the world has an awesome record at beating Global pandemics. I hate seeing this attitude posted everywhere. We've beat dozen's of diseases we know what it takes, Vaccinations and people who can't get vaccinated to follow the rules.

I've been around for 50 years and this is the first time I've been mandated to follow any rules, wear a mask, or get a vaccine.

Several pandemics didn't really hit the US but qualified as pandemic. A pandemic mostly needs to spread through multiple countries but can be regional in nature. There were pandemics in the 1950s, 1960s and one in 2009.

Did you not have to have specific vaccinations in order to go to school? If you're only 50, then you weren't around when polio vaccines were introduced, and everyone was lining up to get it.

I just meant to say that 18 months is not long when it comes to pandemics.

Different era, in some respects. The mobility of the population is a lot different. That has been a part of the spread and containment challenge. People didn't just hop ocean liners for fun in 1918.

In some respects, some of this pandemic has resembled polio shutdowns. Most of us don't remember them but they were real.

I don't want to get into a silly debate between the difference in childhood vaccines and what's going on now. It's not allowed for one and it's not comparable at all, but I think you know that.

What is your source on this? Just curious to know where the information is coming from. Unfortunately RSV is also driving up hospitalizations. Not normally seen this time of year.
