VA may be holding the flights up as full while they sort our rearranging existing passengers - or it may just be a fault with the website.

To minimise overbooking I would check in online 24 hours before - we did this both ways during our December trip where it was only the Manchester flights running due to the snow and Gatwick passengers were on stand by and our flights were very over booked - we had no problems.

If at check in VA ask you to move onto the next flight or go from Gatwick I believe they provide you with vouchers for free VA flights.

When we flew with BA in 2008 our return flight was cancelled two weeks before we travelled. BA moved our flight to the next day - paid for our hotel, spending money and we got BA vouchers. They also refunded our train tickets etc without complaint - very good customer service and we got an extra day of our holiday :)

very good customer service and we got an extra day of our holiday :)

That is the one thing that kept my flying with VA despite them not being the cheapest or having the nicest planes. I am not going iwth them this year as they priced me out of their market, but for customer service they have always impressed me.

So I visited my booking on VA tonight for October, I knew we were on a different flight - earlier to the one were originally booked on, coming back to Manchester. So out of interest I searched for our date to see if the later flight was still being sold. It wasn't :). . But now im worried that seeing 'No flights available' for basically every day of the week we are coming back that both flights have been merged and now they will be fully booked/over booked.

If you get the offer of going on a flight later in the week, what do you get ? Might need to budget in money for 'just in case'. . . Or am I being paranoid :rotfl:.

Our last 2 October flights have both been over booked with Virgin:confused3

The last time they offered anyone willing to transfer to the following day, over night accomodation in the Orlando Hilton and a "free" return flight anywhere :)

If we hadnt had to get back for the children returning to school I'd have jumped at the chance, however I think nearly everyone volunteered.

It was ba who we had that experience, much preferred than va personally!
