:)

Yes, that's 400 and it is a pet loop. If you want to be in a Premium loop and that close, you also might consider 700 and try to get one of the high-numbered sites. Those are close to the marina as well. But, be aware that 700 does not have it's own comfort station.

The entrance to the 400 loop is directly across from the entrance to 100/200 which is close to the walkway to the Marina. There are only 33 sites in the loop so the lowest and highest are the one close to the entrance. IIRC 400 is not a pet loop however. There is actually a sign just past the drive for 300 that says no pets beyond this point.

Also I don't think 400 has it's own CS it shares one with 500 or you can walk across to the one for 100/200.

Edit: Was typing and watching TV while Dave and Lisa posted..

The 400 loop isn't a pet loop. The closest sites to the entrance for the loop are 401 and 433. Devores stayed in 433 over the Christmas holiday. he wasn't thrilled with the site. You might want to check out his trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2621114

Happy planning!
We spend 6 months in the 400 loop with 2 dogs and a horse. So as we have found as before all loops are pet loops even if this not posted. We stayed in 416 and loved it. Close to the CS and a big back yard for the dogs to play.

I'm confused...I've seen dogs in there before. I guess I don't really know what is and isn't a pet loop anymore!

If the loop has a doggie poop bag station, it is a designated pet loop. If not, it is an alternate pet loop.

In simpler terms, every loop can be a pet loop, just some more so.

It's 2:00AM and we leave for FW and Marathon Weekend in 3 hours so I could be totally wrong and if so I attribute it to lack of sleep.:rotfl:

As mentioned before, we stayed in 433 over christmas. This site and 401 are right at the entrance to the loop. Although it is not designated as a pet loop, there were several dogs in this loop during our stay. I cannot remember any doggie bag stations set up here, so take it for what its worth.

You can read my feelings on 433 in my TR (thanks Lisa for posting the link).

As for comfort stations, you would either have to use the one in the 500 loop or the shared 100/200 loop one. If youre in 401/433, the 100/200 comfort station is a short walk acrossed the street.

Hmm, there are a ton of dogs on 400 right now, I didn't even notice it wasn't a pet loop. ;) 500 is a pet loop and it has it's own CS and some canal sites.

stayed at the 400 loop last month with my two dogs and lots of others, for nor being a pet loop, they have a lot of poop bag stations

The 400 loop is, and has been for quite a while, an official pet loop.

There are two (yes two!) poop bag dispensers on this loop.

Here's the photographic confirmation for any skeptics:

Here we are entering the loop. Notice there is a poop bag dispenser just to the right of the directional arrow:

You can see another poop bag dispenser here:

These photos are from August 2009.

The poop bag dispensers and many dogs are still there.

That is my old site 416 the empty site to the right of the pic. Yes that is a poop bag station just outside of our old site.

416 is the site I had for x-mas, real pain to back a 40' 5th wheel into, lots of traffic for the restrooms and a lot of kids beating my truck and trailer with their football, also had a few large branches from the dead tree in the front of the site fall into my truck bed, its off my list.

:confused3When we were at the fort last I really liked the location of this loop so I can walk with my dd who is in a wheelchair down to the marina without having a long ways to go. We also seen a lot of doggie's in the loop.
BUT I called the front desk at the fort and asked if it was a pet loop and they said "no", so I guess it's not an offical pet loop maybe just used as an overflow.

Oy Vey!

It has been well established that calling the "Front Desk" of Fort Wilderness is not a way to get reliable information.

I promise you that the 400 loop is a designated pet loop. Not an overflow pet loop. There are dogs on that loop all the time.

400, 500, & 700 use the same comfort station. If you are close to either end of the 400, you can walk across to the 100/200 comfort station. The 400 loop is similar to the 100 loop I usually stay in, in that it is a close circle which makes backing into some sites an art.

If you have Google Earth, this may help on site numbers:

Ok thank you very much Dave do you know what the site numbers are at the beginning of the 400 loop? TIA

We stayed in 405 last Oct to Dec and the sites start out with 401 on the right and the last site coming out is like 430.

Well all I can say based on our most recent stay was I would guess 75% of the people there had dogs and that would IMO be unusual for overflow of pet loops with all the empty sites we saw in other loops. I think I would double check on the pet loop thing.
