25th Ann.-2 TR w/over 1500 pics!!!!

So we've had a HUGE change in our plans.......
Now instead of just my hubby & I going to Disneyland.....now 4 of my kids are coming!!
My older boys got the money together & were going to get their own package & join us on the trip.....but how in the world would I explain to my 7 & 3 yr old why everyone went but them..... so we crunched numbers & figured out how to bring the 4 of them. They have their own package & motel but will join us for most of the trip. The deal with the older boys was, Mike & I did not want to change plans we already had set & they would need to watch their young siblings for this to work. They agreed & now there will be 6 of us invading the parks!!
So let me introduce you to the "stow-aways".....lol

Anthony (7) - turns 8 (2 days after we leave) so we'll have to incorporate a birthday for him!!

The most fun about this addition is, we're not telling the 2 young ones!! We're going to put them in the car & tell them we're going to go visit someone. After a few hours in the car, when they start whining about being in the car we'll tell them "Well Mickey doesn't live across the street!!". I can't wait to see their faces!!!! (we'll have the video camera & camera's ready)

:confused3 I think I'm rambling to myself.... :( but I'm okay with that.... :lmao: Writing things out helps me get everything worked out.....

Last March, we took our SUV with 5 of us, going down was no problem, but coming home we were packed in like sardines. This trip we've added another adult........so now I'm trying to figure out how in the world we're going to get everything home.???? I guess I could always UPS my dirty laundry home :rotfl2: I know we can have The World of Disney ship our purchases, but a lot of our purchases are clothing that we're planning on wearing (not bringing a lot of shirts). We always pack super-light to go & buy & wear during the week, so shipping those wouldn't make much sense. Any tips??

I'll sit & read other reports & forum topics :surfweb: and wait for some responses. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :cloud9:

What a nice Mom you are. I totally understand, in the long run you will have more fun with the kids along. Now as far as packing and room I am the wrong one to ask. The van is always loaded down for us. Does you SUV have a roof rack? If so what about one of those luggage cases for on top?

My hubby really wants one of the roof cases, but we don't have the money for one right now... One trip (not to Disneyland) we took large rubber tubs & roped them on top & then tarped them....but boy we really noticed we took a hit on gas mileage..... I actually suggested that again for this trip & he said absolutely not. MEN!! :rotfl:

Guess I'll have to find every nook & cranny in our vehicle....spare tire, who needs it!! J/K :lmao:

Men they can be so silly sometimes. And heck who needs a spare? That's what AAA is for right?:lmao:

I have a minivan with the stow and go seats so all of that space is available under those seats so that will be nice when we go in December. I will have space I didn't have before. We go to bicycle races and we carry the bike, so sometimes it is on top and it's bye-bye gas mileage. I can get 25.7 miles to the gallon with it inside. But then we have to fold down part of the backseat. So I know about the gas mileage. What about washing your clothes at the laundry mat before coming home? Clean clothes fold up smaller.

Get some of those space saver bags. There are some that you roll the air out of and don't need a vacuum for. I used them when I was in Europe. Saved a lot of space in my suitcase for souvenirs.

You are brilliant.

Oh that's a great idea!! Thank you!!
And the smell of dirty laundry..... 7 days, 6 people....trapped in a car for 14 hours...... gross!! :rotfl2:

Hey you'll be near me as you travel down. Less than 50 miles as a matter of fact. Be sure and wave as you drive by. Okay?:rotfl:

I will...... actually this will be the first trip we don't go to Fairfield. We've always made a stop at the Jelly Belly Factory & then spent the night somewhere down the road. But we aren't doing it this trip. Bummer...... but I'll definately think of you while traveling south!!

What?!?! No Jelly Belly!!!:scared1: That's criminal. How can you deprive your kids like that?:rotfl:

You know I went to Jelly Belly for the first time this year. I am not sure why.:confused3

Mmm...love the smell of burned sugar at the Jelly Belly factory. The new pomegranate flavor is delicious too!

Haven't tried that flavor myself.

We went over Christmas break. Pretty stupid on my part considering we live here and could go anytime.

So I realized I had shown pics of the people going on the trip, but thought you'd like to see the 2 I have to leave home...... :(

These are the twins: Michayla & Shyann (21mths)

Maybe next trip they'll be able to join us!!

Ah they are so cute. You know at their age they wouldn't remember much of it. So don't feel guilty.

I'm okay with it, due to their age & with one of them tube-fed, it really would complicate things. Besides, space is already an issue & when you bring a baby you triple what you have to bring but with twins......yikes, no room for anyone else!!! :rotfl:

Oh no kidding. What a job that would be too. Have two babies with diapers to change, two diaper bags full of stuff. Not enough arms let alone space.

It wouldn't feel much like a vacation having to deal with all of that, that's for sure.
