25% voucher from 9/27 magic

Hmmmmm...I'm sitting here thinking that I'm about to get really P'd off. We are booked on the 14 day repo cruise. When I spoke to the DCL rep about our delayed cruise, she told me 40% off the "cruise only" fare for the delay, and 25% off a future sailing before 10/1/05. I specifically asked if it had to be a new booking. She seemed surprised, but asked if we already had a future sailing booked. I said yes, and gave her the date. I also said that it was extremely unlikely that we'd be booking another cruise prior to that one. She came back and said that I could apply it...just wait till I got the voucher, then call DCL. Now I'm hearing here that it is a 3,4, or 7 day sailing. Grrrrrr...... Guess I'll wait till I get the voucher and then call. I do have her name and her supervisor's name.

Has anyone received their voucher yet? DCL said 3 weeks, and as of today, we have been home for 3 weeks.

I spoke with DCL on Friday and was told by a CM the last of the vouchers were mailed out Thursday evening. Based on that information I would say by this Tuesday? it should all be over but the shouting and everyone should have their vouchers in hand.

Susie princess:

I have not received my voucher or my refund but I did speak to two people at DCL who checked with supervisors and said WE CAN USE THE VOUCHERS ON THE REPO CRUISE. Again, there is conflicting info from DCL.

We received our vouchers from the 9/25 (9/27) cruise today in the mail. Hope everyone else gets theirs soon!
Susie princess:

Two of our 7 vouchers arrived at the travel agent today. Our refund is due there any moment as well as our other vouchers. We need them to make our payment on our January 15th cruise!

Well, not only were we not advised of any restrictions to this "25% off your next cruise" offer before accepting to cruise on the re-scheduled 9/4/04 Magic. There was no rebooking done while on the cruise because the 25% off "far exceeded" any previous offers. DCL stated this in the 9/10 Navigator.
I have sent a letter to DCL clarifying what cruises were available for re-booking with their current 10%/$200 onboard credit offer prior to and right after our cruise. We shall see if anything after October 1, 2005 was typically available for re-booking onboard other than during our cruise.

Our TA has had our vouchers since 9/22. It has taken an "Act of Congress" to get them sent to me. Finally, today (10/25), I have them in my own hands.

They do not read the same as what was told to me by two DCL reps. But what else is new?

I'm sure they didn't tell you what was on the voucher Rae. My recent experience with them has been utterly amazing. And ... I cross my heart .... am so very, very patient and polite to them in writing and ont he phone.

But, from now on its in writing or no way you get my money. I will not be fooled again. LOL

Paul,
I've known you personally for a very long time. I can vouch for your gentle and polite manners. I can say "visa versa" also without being too immodest. I don't think people are deliberately trying to confuse us but if we don't ask the "right" question, we aren't given the information and even then we are subject to the information given to the reps. We "assume" and often incorrectly, that everyone is honest, decent and informed - as old as we are, Paul, we still don't "get it" and until we do, we have to request for "everything in writing".

The owner of our stables is a horse trader that says his word is his bond and his handshake is his contract. After many horse transactions with me, I can say that he is one in a million. This "good ole boy" could have taken many a novice horse trader/customer to the cleaners but he doesn't. Of course, he isn't a rich man, but he is honest and decent. Of course, he knows that there are dishonest people and he has to protect himself from them - his word is good, but their's may not be. Even he says, "When it doubt, get it on paper!"

Hope all those from 9/27 get their vouchers. Considering ours for 9/4 were sent to the respective TA's on or about September 22. It seems that these folks should have theirs shortly. Again, if in doubt, write and call your TA's!

Rae

We received our vouchers yesterday. I brought them with me in case anyone has "fine print" questions.

Was your sent through your TA or DCL?

I was surprised that it was addressed to our TA and not us directly. Guess that would "help" this TA to get our return business. Personally, I will NOT use the same TA for the next cruise, or any other - and have selected another one.

Since I will now never see mine, what is all the official fine print? Is it too much to type here???

Jill....why won't you see yours?

We just booked for a 3 night on January 6, 2005. The whole family.

I am sending you a PM.

DCL -- we booked through them.

Conditions:

-- 25 percent discount
-- valid for 3, 4, or 7 night cruise-only vacation package with DCL
-- must commence prior to 10/1/2005 excluding peak and holiday sailings
-- non-transferable
-- must book prior to 12/31/04
-- original letter must be remitted with deposit

Oddly enough, they sent one for the baby, who only paid port charges/taxes. Too bad she can't use it!

We received our last 5 vouchers today. I do believe we were either informed over the phone about the restrictions, or I read about them on previous cruises, so we weren't caught off guard. Plus we weren't going to cancel anyway, so these were gravy.

However, much to our surpise these vouchers came directly to us. They were supposed to go to the TA. However, we had written a fairly detailed letter to DCL regarding our cruise and the things we appreciated about what Disney did and how hard everyone was working to work things out for the best. We also made sure to mention by name the many cast and crew members who helped make our voyage magical. Our vouchers came to us today with a letter from DCL thanking us for our letter and assuring us that the CMs mentioned would be recognized. So it was a nice treat to get this letter and the vouchers.

Now we're just waiting for our refund to hit the TA so she can pay for our January 15th second honeymoon cruise.

Well its nice to know the vouchers work for some.

I always write the names of all DCL employees that assisted me during the cruise on the comment forms. Definitely make a point of doing each and everytime I cruise. Good emplyees should always be commended no matter what errors management makes. :D

We commended management as well. In light of the incredibly difficult circumstances of those six or so weeks, we thought they did a great job. Was everything perfect, nope, were there lessons to be learned, yup. But we think they rose to the challenge and did better than I could have expected. Managment needed to know that too.

Hey, MJ! We booked a 4 night for Sept 25, 2005 date as our goofy cruise this year!) already through DU, so they'll get them and just hold on to them. Glad you get to sail with your whole family again!

How bout you guys coming aboard with us on 10/14/06?

Again ... Nothing is ever perfect in life.

Its how the problems are handled that makes the difference. Do I commend DCL management on that? I do not given my personal experience with management. I'm quite easy to please and never argue.

For those that have had better experiences directly with DCL management I think its great. We can all only make decisions based on what we directly experience. But, quite frankly I see people have many reasons to be pleased or displease given their particular situation. :D
