25% raise starting next year!

Now, don't get tooo excited...if you knew what I make it's not that great but, hey, 25% sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

I think I must have the greatest boss tho. He said, over our Holiday lunch today, that starting with the New Year I would be getting $XX/hr. Mind you, I already got a $400 bonus, an earlier $50 'thank you', a BD gift certificate and, I basically dictate my part-time schedule..well, my kids dictate my schedule. I will be off for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year's and, he tells me I'm getting a raise?? Where else but America, right?! AND, he's taking this Friday off and, he tells me to just 'play with the computer' if I want and, watch the incoming faxes, calls, etc. I have permission to DIS at work now!!!

Yay Kim! What a great way to lead into the holidays!

My husband had a similar thing happen to him- at Thanksgiving he found out he was getting a 9% raise, retroactive to JULY! His paycheck on Friday is going to be mighty nice! And he gets his annual raise next July on top of this! Yippee! A big chunk is going to the good ole Discover card to pay for the Christmas gifts we bought.

Kim, that is fantastic news!! I wonder if your boss is my boss's brother?? LOL She is soooo generous to me, it astounds me. I am so very fortunate to have the job I do. I also got an unexpected raise, and I'm getting Wed, Thurs, and Fri of next week off as paid holidays; she and I are actually arguing about January 2nd--she wants to give it to me as a paid day off, and I'm telling her that's insane! LOL I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy, arguing that I shouldn't get an extra day of vacation time. A few months ago, I was going through a rough time and she gave me a gift certificate to her massuese (sp?). She's wonderful. It's great to hear of other great bosses!!!!
