I wonder if this is a test and Disney will continue the great discount in the future ?

They did the same promotion at Christmas this past year. I suspect if it is successful and getting people to come in on off hours instead of everyone arriving at the main hours (those blocked off) it will continue to be there for the busiest times of the year (Christmas, Easter, maybe July 4 of Thanksgiving) but I don't see them extending it to all the time.

ahhhh i got excited then i looked and that's the exact block out dates for my Florida resident season ticket.
That was a reason for me to run down again...lol.

It's not a test. They do this at extremely busy times for two reasons:

1) Encourage use of CS restaurants as opposed to TS restaurants

2) Encourage guests to eat at off-times instead of all crowding into the CS at peak mealtimes. All those on the dining plan will probably stick to peak mealtimes as the discount does not affect them, but those paying cash may alter their dining time to fit the discount.

You're likely to see this at the most crowded times of year, and no other times.

This is also why it's during Florida resident blackout times - these dates are anticipated to be the busiest holiday times.

I hope it continues into 2012 - we plan to go back to WDW June 23 to July 3 in 2012. I hope the meal deal is alo on those dates.
