Is this a constant benefit for blue card DVC members (booking thru MS over the phone) or is it only a temporary discount available whenever Disney feels like releasing it? Thanks!

It's an ongoing discount on DVC rooms but is subject to availability.

Correct. Only DVC villas, not hotel rooms even at shared resorts like AKL.

Nope...the regular discounts are often better.

No. It is a DVC benefit for DVC villas, when available. We have used it multiple times when we’ve added a few nights at Vero Beach after exhausting our points (and ourselves ) at WDW.

I didn't know that it was a benefit that was ONLY available for blue card members. If so, I'm concerned about losing the benefit since we only have 100 direct points, if they raise the # of points needed.

if you have a "blue card" now then you will always have a blue card - unless you sell of course. We bought in @ 100 also initially and have since added on 25 more.

You have to call MS to check availability for the discount and it isn't always available. I've used it several times for villas at DHHIR on weekend nights since the points are so high on there on the weekends. If you are using it at WDW, check to make sure you won't get a better rate from a public discount code. Sometimes those can be 35 percent off villas at SSR and OKW.
