24 hours to go and I'm driving dw mad!

We go on Friday, and for some reason I've decided today that the camcorder needs replacing! So I'm leaving dw packing tomorrow to drive an inordinately long distance to a shop in Bradford which has just the one I want...
Suffice to say, dw is not speaking to me.
Trying to justify it by pointing out that the old camcorder is an archaic 3 years old and the weight of a house brick didn't cut any mustard! I've highlighted that said 'old' camcorder will still serve a useful purpose when editing holiday footage, thereby saving the precious new camcorder, also went down like a lead balloon. (she pointed out that I'm still promising to edit film from the last three trips, oops!)
Still, I'm sure by the time the gear goes up on Friday, the trauma of the journey to the airport etc will have dulled her memory.

You're going to Bradford!! Yes, it is a long way for a camcorder. My DH would freak if I said I wanted to go there for a camcorder

Have a wonderful time, i'm sure it goes without saying!!

I think i'd find an excuse to get out of the dreaded packing too, nice one! we went away for one nite at the weekend and it took ages to pack (and there's only two of us!) - so with only 25 days to go i'd better start now!! hmmm just better check whether or not we need a new camcorder first LOL!

Got there and back in under 3 hours... It was nice while it lasted!
Got a superdooper, nice shiny new camcorder. Already been told that'll have to last at least 5 years!
Our living room looks like a bomb site, 2 suitcases already packed and none of its mine. Looks like I'll be travelling light this year. (I always do, just as well!)
I'll try really hard to make the odd note this year, and post a trip report when we get back, there's always a first time for everything!

Dp has now insisted to me we need a "digital camera!" after just buying a new camera for the holiday!! so now we are on the look out for a new camera for the next trip!! gr!

Better get the camcorder battery on charge - last one I bought, the battery had to be left on charge for about 16 hours before first use!!
