24 Days...and we're driving! Yikes!

So we are driving for this, our 3rd trip to WDW...my DH thinks our kids need to experience this, since we were children in the 70's and have some crazy memories of family car trips. We're taking it easy on the way home, stopping at St. Pete's for a day of beach time and then to the Coca-Cola HQ in Atlanta. DH and I used to also take road trips w/my parents to FL when we were dating....and they chain-smoked! Yuck!!! But we did have fun. In my life, I've taken 10 road trips to FL and flown 4 times there....the last long car trip we took as a family was 2 years ago and that was 7 hours. My kids are 11 & 16, so they are well-behaved and they both love to draw and have electronic accoutremon, so I think they will have plenty to keep them occupied, but I am FREAKING OUT!!!!

Of course, can't wait to get back to WDW...we last went in 2006 and have had tons of family problems since then, not our own but extended family. MIL had a horrible accident in the summer and we've been taking care of her and BIL and neice are both ill, its been stressful. The four of us are WDW freaks and Star Wars maniacs, so we are psyched! Got our documents today...woo-hoo!

Where are yall driving from? How long does it take?

We usually drive (from New Orleans area), and it takes us about 10 hours. This time, we're flying since DD & I are staying an extra week longer than DH.

We'll be there the same time as you - we leave in 27 days! Where are yall staying? We'll be at the Yacht Club for the first week, then moving over to Coronado Springs for the second week.

We leave in 19 days and we drive as well. It is part of the adventure for us. Our route tkes us through gem mining country in NC on the way home so we spend a few days there doing that. Kind of like 2 vacations in one.

We were actually pleasantly surprised when we did the drive last year because we found that we really enjoyed it.

You will have a great vacation
