I am not sure if this is the right spot for this.
I was thinking of renting points for *, when would be the soonest I would be able to start looking for someone? I have never rented points before and I am starting to read up as much as I can to get info on this. It would be for a family of ***. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be GREAT!! Thanks!!

The earliest the owners can book a reservation is 11 months before the date of check-in.

Any idea of about how many points I would need for a family of 5?
Just trying to figure out if this MAY work out to be cheaper then Port Orleans/Riverside. Thanks again!

How many points you would need would depend on the resort, room size, and number of days. BLT and AKV have 1-Bdrms that sleep 5. Otherwise, you would need a two bedroom (unless one child is under 3). The 2011 point charts just came out. Here is a thread discussing them:

If you pick a particular resort and want to book soon, you would need to rent from someone who has that as their home resort. Memebers can book their home resort 11 months out and all others at 7 months out.
