.

I added up what I can remember and added taxes in when applicable and came up with a total rounded off to $1900.00. I'm sure I'm forgetting some gifts for the kids that I can't remember, so I added in an extra $50.00.

OK that puts us just over $1100 - WOW - way more than I would have said if you had asked me in person for an estimate. And that doesn't include DH's gifts to me - which are likely in the $100 - $200 range. UGH! Definitely need to budget a bit better next year.

And that's for 23 different people.

Oh - just shared this info with dh sitting on the other couch and remembered that we are giving his mom cash for a new washer/dryer - likely in the $300 range I'm guessing - we'll be in the $1500 range easily.

I'd like to scale that down next year to around $1000 total. Let's see if I can do it! :)

I'm not sure. I tried to stay budget this year, so I spent less than most here, but I know I spent more than I originally intended because I was really lenient with my limits for each person. I'll add it up later, I'm sure!

Hmm...let me add it up. This doesn't count what DH spent out of his own money on me, my mom, or his brother.

Mom:

Gift Card (free with Hilton Points)
Framed picture $45
Crossword Puzzle Books $25
DVD $30
Gift Certificate $100

DH:

Ludicrously expensive headphones - $300
Buckeyes shirt - $65
Books - $45

My Brother:
His Brother:
FIL:

Gift Cards (free with Hilton Points)

My Best Friend:

Costco Membership - $50

My Aunts:

Random treats they like - $30
Gift Card (free with Hilton Points)

Grandma:

Walgreens Gift Card - $50
Candy/Puzzle Book - $5
Book on CD - $20

Nephew & Family

Movie Basket: $50
WalMart GC - $100

Party for 10 of my friends w/ swag bags - $500

Soo...just a little over $1400. That's actually better that I was expecting. Thank goodness for Hilton!

This was an expensive month for us. All of a sudden I looked at our credit card account online and our checking account and got worried. Our final deposit for our Disney trip was due today and of course we bought all of our christmas presents this month.

I never totaled how much we spent on Christmas before this thread. My total came to about $1,300 for 16 people. This does not include what my husband purchased for me and my daughter.

Believe it or not we have never done a budget for anything. We just pay off our credit card every month and move on. Well all of our vacations this year have finally caught us with us and left our checking account at it's lowest level in a long time.

Time to make a change for the new year!

Keep 'em coming! You all are making me feel better and better! :woohoo:

For my best friend--Mad Men Season 1 $14 and some sentimental gifts that didn't cost anything

DS19--$40 and $5 worth of homemade peppermint bark
DD17--$50 cash
DS11--"bucky balls" (a magnet toy) $38 and some little finger skateboards $7.50

For my dad (not yet purchased): wine and some cheeses $30

So my grand total will be: $170.50 and about $20 in shipping.

Not bad really. Maybe not as much as other people, but at least we stayed within our means.

Well, we only have about 11 family members total to buy for, including us and we spent about $1800 right there. Then there are the friends which would probably be another $200 or so. I don't know exactly because we don't budget for gifts. When we see something, we buy it. But I do start shopping in Jan for Christmas so I do spread it out.

breaks down to about $1500
$1200 on about 20 gifts total( our girls, Dh's family, & my family)
$300 on food

Without adding it all up, I would guess somewhere between 3-4K. We probably spend about 3K on the kids (have 4) and then bought for niece, nephew, my parents, his parents, my brother and his wife and a close family friend. I do have to say though that we generally only buy the kids toys for Christmas and their bdays.

I spent about 1000 on myself, DH,my parents, DS DD-I-L, and Dgrandaughter. My son just got married this year, so it was my first year as "nana". Although it doesn't sound like a lot to spend, that was after we weren't spending much on anyone because we are taking everyone to Disney next year!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

A lot. Much more then normal. I think we are trying to revive the economy on our own. :cool1: Many of my family are in worse shape this year then the past so we were more generous there, and went a little nuts on the kids. Plus Dh decided this was the year to finally get his parents a real desktop. (in the past he has put them together with mostly spare parts) Just about everything was put on the credit card. The bill will be paid in full when it comes.
Donna

I spent a lot more than I normally would. We had a fire in Nov. and lost every single thing that we had. I felt the worst for my boys so they definitely got extra this year. If I had to guess, I'd say close to $2000 just for them. For everyone else about 500. We did use cash though so there won't be any lingering bills at least.

Too much. For the immediate family of 4 it comes to about $1500.
I still have to sort and wrap. A PS3, IPOD and UGGS alone came to $650.

Total!! you mean I have to add it up.... :faint:

I should attempt to add it all up to see what I've spent. I did save up most of the receipts in the desk. Some of the stuff I'll have to guestimate. We still need to get FIL a custom frame for his hideous picture, but at least he loves it.
