............

Hope you are better today, C. Ann....come check in with us, we are worried about you

Well dairy products, including ice cream and cheese have triggered gall bladder attacks for me before, although I have never had a fever and the pain for me doesn't last as long as it has for you. Your gall bladder could be inflammed though. I have also heard that pain from either an ulcer or a hernia can be in that same spot.

I hope you can get to the doctor soon and get it checked out.

Sorry you are having some problems still
I can't help with any of the GB symptoms. Hopefully someone can give you some info soon.
And I hope the trip to the doctor tomorrow gets you some answers....and that H1N1 shot (I got mine Sat.)

With all of the medical problems you seem to have I don't think it is wise for you to be alone any more - at the lake. You sound far too fragile and ill to be left alone like that.

C. Anne, I hate to tell you this because I know it will scare the bejeezus outta you, but I am presently recovering from suspected H1N1 and my first symptoms were pain in my chest area.

Now, I don't know that that is going on with you, and in fact, it might be unlikely. But I'm telling you so you can make sure to get checked out by a doctor and make sure someone can come take care of you if that's the case.

For me, day 1: chest pain around the sternum and sometimes more on the right side -- a constant dull ache
day 2: chest pain still there, joined with back pain. very slight "gravely" feeling in throat (didn't seem like illness, just like my voice was a bit strained or something)
day 3: coughing starts, aching all over, low-grade fever

I'm now on day 6 and starting to recover, no more fever, feeling "sorta" perky. Still coughing, but mostly better.

The chest pain for me (which I assumed was just a strained muscle or anxiety or something -- did not feel like flu) I think was either the mucus settling into my chest or the aches and pains of flu. GF had it (worse than me) and did not get most of the pain related stuff, but she did have some achiness and burning (felt like heartburn to her) in her chest area the first day.

Please don't panic -- it's probably not h1n1, and even if it is, you should be FINE, but do go to the doctor and get checked out.

gosh, I feel like a horrible person! Please don't panic, C. Anne!:grouphug:

Don't worry - I won't panic.. I really doubt that it's the flu, but if I needed my DD, she could be here in 40 to 45 minutes - and the Rescue Squad is only 3 miles up the road..

If I feel well enough to drive tomorrow, I'll keep the appt. with my doctor as planned and drive down and back myself.. If not, I can call my DD and she'll come to take me to the appointment..

It really does sound like GB from what everyone has been saying here.. I can't remember if my DD ever had a fever with it though before she had hers taken out.. I'll have to remember to ask her when she calls later on..

I thought these were supposed to be "The Golden Years"?? :rotfl:

Go outside and get some fresh air. Fresh air is great. The heck with the packing. The heck with being online. Fresh air while its still nice out. :goodvibes

If I were at the lake, I would be outside every minute!

sometimes you can run fever with gallbladder disease. My sister did. She is a very thin woman, really watches her diet and eats all the right stuff. When she started up with the right upper quadrant pain she thought she was going to die. They put her in the hospital right away because she was so sick. But not everyone has that experience. Sometimes a bad gallbladder will just sit there a "percolate" for awhile, sending out pain messages from time to time. If you have stones they can move around, which will cause "colicky" pain--severe sometimes, absent other times, as the stones jiggle around.

I hope you keep your doctor appointment tomorrow. If the pain gets worse tonight I really think you need to call the rescue squad.

I am NOT going outside in the dark alone - and if I don't pack, who will?? Now if you're offering, maybe we can work something out..;)

Having just had my gallbladder out this summer, I also think it sounds like a nasty gallbladder attack. My doctor said nausea is one of the symptoms, especially for women. There's fat in mac and cheese, milk, ice cream, peanut butter, the mayo in tuna (if you use mayo), and maybe even the tomato soup (we make it with milk here), and chicken noodle soup as well. I was living on tea, diet coke, and saltines for a long time after my last attack. that was right before the gallbladder was popped out.

I hope you feel better soon! Do you get any relief from a heating pad or hot shower?

Don't pack & I'll house sit at the lake for the winter. I don't mind. I love the outdoors, walking in the snow with snowshoes & peace and quiet. :goodvibes

I hope that you feel better soon! I did have fever when I had gallbladder problems. I had mine removed when my daughter was 6 weeks old. That was fun! My gallbladder problems seemed to come on fast: pain + fever then ultrsound. I must have had an infection because I ended up on antibiotics. It's so long ago now. Tough to remember everything. (My baby is almost 19 now!) Good luck
Maureen
