DBF went to the doctor yesterday for a sinus infection and they offered him the H1N1 vax. I was a bit surprised.

The kids' doctors have never given any vaccination if the kids had any cold/flu symptoms at all. I'm not shocked that your doctor is being cautious with you. I know you want to get that vaccine, but it just seems like something is saying, "don't do it." :lmao:

Ya think? :rotfl::rotfl:

Now if it meant the temps were going to stay in the 60's up here until - oh - December 23rd or so - I'd definitely be THANKING the doctor for being so cautious..:thumbsup2

So glad to hear your little DGD is better, but sorry you are under the weather. Man, if it weren't for bad luck :headache:.....ya think perhaps this shot is not meant to be?!?!?! :confused3

DH and I went to his VA dr yesterday to get adivse about his on going health situation and dr announced there's only 30 shots available to our out patient VA dept! :eek:
DH told him 'lots of Vets need it worse than him'! :goodvibes

Good luck and feel better soon my friend! :wizard:

Seriously.. If something happens next week I might just have to wonder!

That is absolutely crazy!!!!!! Only 30 shots?? :headache:

My DH and kids got H1N1 (at WDW, of all places). My DD had the worst of it, two weeks of fever, but even so, it wasn't that bad. Even if you can't get the vax I wouldn't be too worried about it, its not significantly more dangerous to your age group than the seasonal flu.

My son is on the priority list too- he has asthma. He actually had an easier time with the H1N1 than my DD did, and she had no underlying conditions. He was over it in about 4 days or so.

That's great! I'm so glad that your family has had it, recovered, and don't have to be concerned about it anymore..:goodvibes

Oh C.Ann! I'm so sorry things just keep throwing themselves in the way. I'm not surprised about the doc not giving it to you though. When I went to the flu shot clinic last night, if you had a cough, cold, congestion, fever, etc, you could NOT get the shot. Luckily I was A-OK, now as for the lady sitting next to me in the holding tank after we were done (you had to stay for 15 minutes to make sure you didn't react) not sure how she made it through the screening process... :confused3 I've felt just fine today, in fact, maybe even a little better than normal. I really don't even have any pain in my arm or anything. :thumbsup2

I am sorry C.Ann. We think my DS might be getting over the H1N1 and my OB office wants me to come in and get the shot tomorrow. I have a stuffy nose and the beginning of a sore throat but they said that was fine.

I hope you feel better quickly.
