I have been anxiously awaiting this NY situation, because my job has mandated that we get both the seasonal vaccine and the h1N1. I haven't done it yet, and am holding out to see where this case goes.

I am very happy about the news, I really don't want to get the vaccine. I'll get it if my job depends on it but if it's not forced upon me, I'm not taking it voluntarily.

another article I read today said that 25% fewer vaccines than originally planned are going to ship in the next few weeks. Those that want the vaccines should get them instead of forcing them on those that don't!!!!

Very interesting.....I am one of those workers in NY who was mandated. I already received my seasonal flu shot, but I would of anyhow. It will make it interesting in regards to the H1N1 one though.

I also was mandated, and got the seasonal flu vaccine. The hospital I'm in now has mandated that you must have gotten your flu shot, or turned in an exemption by 10/13. When I started the rotation, I had to turn in a form with the flu vaccine lot number and signature of the person administering the vaccine since I didn't get it from the hospital. If they didn't have this form, we couldn't go onto the floors.

I feel sorry for those of you who had to have it and didn't want it. I would not be comfortable being told to get vaccinated because I don't want it. I wouldn't tell anyone not to get it, it is none of my business, but I expect the same courtesy in return.

The seasonal flu shot is mandated for all health care workers for the first year ever in NY by the Dept of Health. We are the only state so far that is forcing everyone to get it whether you want it or not. NY was also manadating N1H1 but there is now a hold on that, we'll see how it works out.

Have to say that I don't think they should force it on everyone. Like everyone else has said it should be your decision. Since the quantities are limited save it for those who need it.

We're mandated in Massachusetts, too, but they've already backtracked and said there will not be enough so that's no longer on the table.
